  • Perfect home

"I couldn't have been more pleased. This home sits on two lots of lush, tropical professional landscaping. The backyard and pool are completely private and I loved sitting on the lanai in the morning listening to the birds sing. The home is fully equipped with anything you might need: an abundance of dishes and pots and pans, cleaning supplies, comfortable beds with additional bedding, beach supplies, and bicycles. When we arrived the home was in pristine condition! And a huge thanks to the owner for the cold beers that welcomed after our long drive!"

  • Private Peaceful Canal Hideaway

"If you value a private, quiet home surrounded by nature, this is your Shangri-La. Yet just a short 5-minute drive away, North Port offers all the shopping and services you need. There are few houses in this part of Port Charlotte; in fact, the nearest side street, Paradise Avenue, has no houses on it at all. We walked down that quiet street almost every morning and enjoyed solitude surrounded by marshland and tall pine forest. We saw birds and other critters on our walks but very little vehicular traffic. Our stay at this house in October was a real pleasure. The house was roomy, very clean, and functional. Although an older home, it was quite adequate and everything you need was provided. From the kitchen, dining room, and master bedroom, you look out across a nice yard to the canal with no houses to spoil the view. The roomy screened patio porch was a nice place to enjoy a cold drink, see the mullet jumping in the canal, and watch the assortment of Great Egrets, Blue Herons, Snowy Egrets, and other birds that cruised the canal or explored the back yard. Although the owner resides in Texas, Lou and Rita at Blue Heron Home Management were always available should a question or problem occur; they handled our rental transaction professionally and made sure we had a great vacation. We would rent with them again. We were disappointed that there was no telephone in the house, especially since there was no cell signal on any of our three T-Mobile devices. We had to drive a mile north to make phone calls. Our master bed (actually 2 twins together) was just OK, not very comfortable. It’s our understanding the owner may be correcting these issues before the winter season. Nonetheless this was a fine vacation rental."
