  • just what was needed

"Even with Tropical Storm Colin closing the Skyway bridge and the ferry to access the island, it did not disrupt a wonderful stay here (just cut it short by a day unfortunately :(((( ) The accomodations were wonderful, the beach empty and yet still so serene with uncommon crashing waves...The highlights of the trip were the very cool paddle through the mangroves, the sea turtle tracks directly in front of the townhouse, and the aability to relax and be away from it all! Thank you for a perfect 50th birthday getaway! Can't wait to come back!!!"

  • Excellent Home in a Peaceful Setting!

"We chose this home for its privacy, size and amenities and we were not disappointed. The home is large and very well appointed. Everything you can think of is available for your use including a golf cart and minivan if you choose to use them to get around. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need for cooking and preparing meals even for the 10 of us. (One thing I couldn't find was a potato masher, which is no deal at all but since the kitchen had absolutely everything else, I was surprised not to find one. However, it could have been there and I just missed it.) The storage downstairs has everything you can imagine for the beach from beach chairs and toys to umbrellas and boogie boards/ floats. The home is equipped with an elevator so it is a great home for elderly guests and those with disabilities. The elevator did have an issue our 2nd day there but the owner was there within the hour to resolve it. The owner is very pleasant, helpful and professional. The home is decorated amazingly and the finishes are top notch. It really is a luxurious beach home. It doesn't have a pool but there is a pool you can use in the marina on the mainland. Speaking of mainland, yes, you need to take a 2 minute ferry ride to get on the island which for us was fine as we never left the island after getting on. There is a Publix nearby and we did all of our groceries for the week prior to our arrival. I can't speak for local restaurants since we cooked our own meals everyday. The road on the island is paved about halfway to the house. The rest of the way is was sand and huge holes. However, the owner informed me that they will be placing compacted crushed shells on that road and I indeed saw crews doing just that the day we were leaving. The beach is very quiet and the views are amazing. During Turtle nesting season (May-October), you must close the blinds after sunset in order to use interior lights. It wasn't too big of a deal since we are big fans of our oceans and wildlife. To enjoy the beach views under moonlight, I would go to the 3rd floor deck (Best spot in all the house to relax and take in the views) with a drink and relax under the ceiling fan. There were places for ceiling fans on the 2nd floor deck but there weren't any. I'm assuming there are reasons for that. All the furniture inside/outside was comfortable but the master bed squeaks loudly with just my breathing. Overall, we had an A+ time and we will definitely stay at Tranquility House again."

  • Exceeded our expectations!

"We just returned from a 1 week stay with another couple and could not have been happier with Incommunicado. The owners thought of everything, the house was so clean and outfitted with beach towels, umbrella, chairs, and kayaks, we really didn't need to bring anything. We had 5 other couples at two other locations and they all loved this little place when we hosted a dinner. We were able to kayak in the inlet and we also rented a pontoon to Boca Grande and Cabbage Key. The pool was very clean and refreshing, but most of our time was spent on the beach. A beach we basically had to ourselves! What a relaxing vacation! We are already planning our next trip and Incommunicado will be our home for that week...you can bet on it!"

  • February/March at Fiddlers Green

"Anne and I had a most wonderful time during our February/March stay at Fiddlers Green. The condo was spacious and bright, and with the enclosed liana, had plenty of room for guests and friends to visit. The liana facing the north/east, overlooks the Preserve, and is very comfortable to sit and relax in at any time during the day......to read or listen to the plethora of wild-life close by. The kitchen was well outfitted with sufficient equipment and settings to prepare and serve dinner for eight. The Fiddlers Green complex is well looked after and friendly. Just about everyone says "hello" and will stop and chat when one is out for a walk. Within the first days of our arrival we were welcomed by one of the owners, who briefed us on the amenities, activities and events of the complex.....a nice touch We took advantage of many of these to meet and enjoy the other owners/renters who were also staying there (eg: Saturday coffee; Sunday cocktails; Mens, Ladies and Couples Golf; Tennis; Aqua fit; Crafts; Valentine's and St Patrick Days Parties: to name a few) During our time there we met and became friendy with quite a few with whom we will likely stay in touch. There are plenty of local restaurants within a few miles and all serve reasonably priced meals. Beaches were 10 - 15 minutes away and are great for walking and sunbathing, but a little cold for swimming until late in March. However the complex pool, at a constant 85 deg F, is a more than adequate swimming alternative. Thank you Bill for providing your condo, it was very comfortable. While we were disappointed to learn of your intention to sell, we would certainly recommend the property to friends and family.......and would return in a heartbeat. Best Regards Mike & Anne Moorcroft"
