  • Affordable paradise

"What a fantastic time. Coquina Cove was beautiful and perfect. Everything was just as advertised. This was the first time we had ever rented a property and after such a positive experience it will not be our last. We absolutely loved Coquina Cove and cant wait to go again. It was great being able to fish of the dock (we did catch fish) and then hang at the beach. The beach was almost like our private beach at times. There were seashells everywhere including sharks teeth. We saw dolphins on 3 separate occasions and they were amazingly close in to us. We even saw a stingray. The ferry was a fun experience also. We saw the gopher tortoises about everyday along with all sorts of wildlife , hated to leave. Julie answered all of our questions very promptly and we knew if we needed anything she would be there to help. We would highly recommend Coquina Cove to anyone thinking of going to the gulf area. We went to several restaurants in the Englewood and Venice area. Our favorites were the Lock and Key , The Gulf View, and Flounders. We also enjoyed Likkety Split for ice cream. We did try the Rum Bay establishment on the island and enjoyed their bone in wings. We found a parasail outfit in Venice which was about 12 miles north. It was fun. while there we checked out downtown Venice and Nokomis beach as well. Good day trip. We loved everything about our trip. It truly was affordable paradise."

  • Wonderful and relaxing!

"The house and property was very nice. Even though it rained everyday while we were there, our family still had a great time! We fished from the dock, swam in the nice warm pool and then relaxed in the lovely home in the evenings. Scott, the owner, is very helpful and accessible. I highly recommend this property! • just what was needed

"Even with Tropical Storm Colin closing the Skyway bridge and the ferry to access the island, it did not disrupt a wonderful stay here (just cut it short by a day unfortunately :(((( ) The accomodations were wonderful, the beach empty and yet still so serene with uncommon crashing waves...The highlights of the trip were the very cool paddle through the mangroves, the sea turtle tracks directly in front of the townhouse, and the aability to relax and be away from it all! Thank you for a perfect 50th birthday getaway! Can't wait to come back!!!"

  • Excellent Home in a Peaceful Setting!

"We chose this home for its privacy, size and amenities and we were not disappointed. The home is large and very well appointed. Everything you can think of is available for your use including a golf cart and minivan if you choose to use them to get around. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need for cooking and preparing meals even for the 10 of us. (One thing I couldn't find was a potato masher, which is no deal at all but since the kitchen had absolutely everything else, I was surprised not to find one. However, it could have been there and I just missed it.) The storage downstairs has everything you can imagine for the beach from beach chairs and toys to umbrellas and boogie boards/ floats. The home is equipped with an elevator so it is a great home for elderly guests and those with disabilities. The elevator did have an issue our 2nd day there but the owner was there within the hour to resolve it. The owner is very pleasant, helpful and professional. The home is decorated amazingly and the finishes are top notch. It really is a luxurious beach home. It doesn't have a pool but there is a pool you can use in the marina on the mainland. Speaking of mainland, yes, you need to take a 2 minute ferry ride to get on the island which for us was fine as we never left the island after getting on. There is a Publix nearby and we did all of our groceries for the week prior to our arrival. I can't speak for local restaurants since we cooked our own meals everyday. The road on the island is paved about halfway to the house. The rest of the way is was sand and huge holes. However, the owner informed me that they will be placing compacted crushed shells on that road and I indeed saw crews doing just that the day we were leaving. The beach is very quiet and the views are amazing. During Turtle nesting season (May-October), you must close the blinds after sunset in order to use interior lights. It wasn't too big of a deal since we are big fans of our oceans and wildlife. To enjoy the beach views under moonlight, I would go to the 3rd floor deck (Best spot in all the house to relax and take in the views) with a drink and relax under the ceiling fan. There were places for ceiling fans on the 2nd floor deck but there weren't any. I'm assuming there are reasons for that. All the furniture inside/outside was comfortable but the master bed squeaks loudly with just my breathing. Overall, we had an A+ time and we will definitely stay at Tranquility House again."
