  • Great vacation cottage!

"Adorable place with plenty of room right on the water. The owner is extremely nice and will take care of needs you have. Great find in the heart of Matlacha!"

  • A quaint cottage style house on a quaint island

"Enjoyed our stay at this property. The owner had all the amenities we could have asked for. We spent time relaxing on the deck in back of the house watching the fish jump in the canal and the little lizards scurry around. The neighbor across the ally was super sweet. Found out I had a cold and brought over cold remedies and even offered homemade chicken soup! Matlacha is a colorful little fishing island with numerous little artist shops to visit. Several good restaurants and fish markets are on the island. The Yacht Club beach is about a 20 mim drive and very nice. We would certainly recommend this property."

  • No place like home

"This was our family's second stay at the Wilson House. Each day (after outings to the Sanibel beaches, Caya Costa State Park, Marco Island, etc.), someone in our party of 4 always mentioned about returning "home." That, I thought, spoke volumes about how comfortable everyone felt here and how cozy a place this is to stay. We were even welcomed this year with a bouquet of flowers on the kitchen table. The house includes everything one could need; we especially appreciate having a washer and dryer so we didn't have to pack a week's worth of clothes when we came. We used the beach umbrella, beach chairs, beach bag and towels every day and the Yahtzee game (in the game closet) every evening. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood, near several restaurants and deli, and near the Tropic Star marina (for kayaking and for the ferry ride to Caya Costa). It is about an hour from Sanibel, which is an easy drive. Wifi is available in the house. We were able to connect with our smartphones, but found that we spent the majority of the week disconnected, enjoying the sun, the sand, the water and each other's company. Thank you, again, to Michael and Sherry, for sharing their home with us and allowing us to call this place "home" for a week!"
