  • Paradise found!

"We had an amazing time from beginning to end. The moment we went into the house we were impressed. It was so clean and had everything we needed. The house is in the perfect location for boating. The first night we dropped the boat into the water and went right out for a sunset cruise. We visited Cabbage Key, went swimming at Captiva/Sanibel, fished and saw a ton of dolphin. Boca Grande pass was a quick boat trip away. We chartered a captain and had a great night of tarpon fishing. Other nights were spent out back, bbqing, fishing and playing board games. The only downside was that we didn't stay longer! Before we were checked out we were planning our next trip. Thank you Robert and Ellen for sharing your beautiful home with us! ~Kristen and Brian"

  • No place like home

"This was our family's second stay at the Wilson House. Each day (after outings to the Sanibel beaches, Caya Costa State Park, Marco Island, etc.), someone in our party of 4 always mentioned about returning "home." That, I thought, spoke volumes about how comfortable everyone felt here and how cozy a place this is to stay. We were even welcomed this year with a bouquet of flowers on the kitchen table. The house includes everything one could need; we especially appreciate having a washer and dryer so we didn't have to pack a week's worth of clothes when we came. We used the beach umbrella, beach chairs, beach bag and towels every day and the Yahtzee game (in the game closet) every evening. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood, near several restaurants and deli, and near the Tropic Star marina (for kayaking and for the ferry ride to Caya Costa). It is about an hour from Sanibel, which is an easy drive. Wifi is available in the house. We were able to connect with our smartphones, but found that we spent the majority of the week disconnected, enjoying the sun, the sand, the water and each other's company. Thank you, again, to Michael and Sherry, for sharing their home with us and allowing us to call this place "home" for a week!"

  • Amazing experience!!!

"My husband and I have nothing but great things to say about our vacations in Bokeelia, FL. This apartment is very well maintained, recently remodeled, all amenities working in perfect conditions and very clean (including towels, blankets, sheets, etc.). The owner, Brian, was very nice, correct and helpful since our first contact. He was always answering our questions and wanting to make sure that everything was ok as soon as we get there. The apartment has cable and a good wifi (fundamental if you are in the middle of your graduate course like myself) and, had ice cream in the freezer for our arrival, a very nice and thoughtful touch! :) Bokeelia is a unique and beautiful place in Florida, we were able to use our boat everyday (just be careful with shallow waters), fish and relax. We've never seen a place with so many dolphins like there! The condominium also is very well maintained and people are very friendly. We definitely recommend your stay!"

  • Perfect fishing getaway!

"This house was in a great location for fishing - just as described. We had a great time fishing, swimming, and boating in the harbor and the gulf! The boat lift was super convenient and the boat ramp is at the next street over (remember to bring cash for the pay box there- $5). You can get fresh bait shrimp right around the corner at Jug Creek Marina but get there early! The house was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for cooking, relaxing, etc. The pool was very cold since it's in the shade most of the day, and the pool deck is downstairs from the living area through the basement/garage, so we didn't use it much, but at this price, the pool was a bonus. FYI- It is kind of isolated and there's not a lot of stuff to do in the immediate area, but we were there to fish and were on the water most days. The Tarpon Lodge restaurant on the island is VERY good, and Matlacha is about 15 minutes away and has shops, galleries, and restaurants, with a Keys kind of atmosphere. Great vacation! Thanks, Cindy!"
