  • The Perfect Vacation

"My family and I got the pleasure of renting this home for our family vacation and I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience. Upon arrival to the home I could tell immediately that these owners take great pride in their home. It was very well maintained and the decor was very pleasing to the eye. (great taste) They really go out of their way to provide you with everything you could need to make the best out of your vacation. They had this great welcome book that explained how everything in the house worked and also provided you with some local information about Pine Island. My Daughter however was just so excited to use the pool I think she jumped in before we could even unload the car. The pool is in this screened in lanai with great lighting that made it fun for her (and us too) to swim at night. We even found a couple toys for the kids to play with in the pool. And almost every room walked out to the pool, so amazing. My husband though was more interested in how many fish he could catch, as we heard the fishing was great down there. Luckily for us this home even provided an excellent grill that we used almost every night for dinner. (Fish of course). It was super easy to use and very much appreciated that it was available to us. We even got to take the kayaks down the canal and saw a couple manatee, priceless. I really loved how helpful and friendly the owners are. They really made me feel like I was family and was always available to answer any questions I had and I could tell they were really genuine people. I can not wait to rent this house again! I think we might have started a new family tradition. I highly recommend this property to anyone that is looking for a great place to spend their vacation. Thank you so much for allowing us to rent your home. We will definitely be back soon."

  • a great island getaway

"Easy access from Fort Myers airport (southwest Florida international airport) to Pine Island. The Eggs nest is a wonderful place to stay. Mornings were spent on the deck watching the fisherman go up and down the canal and the rest of the day the boats moving in the canal provided great entertainment. The house was very tastefully decorated in coastal colors and was very comfortable and relaxing with plenty of room for all. The 3 panel sliding door completely opens giving you great access to the screened in deck. We spent more time on the deck than inside. We loved watching all the birds on the Island, back home we don't have egrets, pelicans and an Osprey nest outside our windows. There are many "preserves" on the island were they have short walking trails. We saw young Bald Eagles at the Galt Preserve. Our favorite walk was St. Jude's trail. Fresh fish was available a short bike ride away at the Fish House. 2 Bikes were available in the garage for our usage and since its flat around there, bike riding was wonderful. We grilled Gulf shrimp almost every day and the grouper also was excellent. Watching the sunsets at night from the second story deck were fantastic. Our favorite restaurant was the "Waterfront" for the specials like New Orleans oysters on Saturdays and Sweet Tea fried chicken on Sundays. Eating out on the Waterfront's deck with a view of the canals we saw manatee and dolphins. There are several great restaurants with live music within walking distance. The screened in swimming pool was also a plus and very nice for a late night dip. A great day trip from the island via "Island Girl Charters" was over to Cabbage Key Island for lunch and then to North Captiva Island to Barnacles for great ice cream and/or a beer and then back to Pine Island. We highly recommend staying here for relaxing and enjoying the "island" way of life. The location is great for the surrounding areas activities. We would definitely come back."
