  • Wonderful Cottage

"My mother and I visited Sanibel Island for the first time. We found "Driftwood Inn" cottage to be quite charming. Bridget was extremely helpful from the first contact until our departure. We arrived on Friday afternoon, and found the cottage easily. The locks on the door were electronic (handy and convenient), so we did not have to keep up with a key to the house. It was very clean and tidy. There were extra towels, wash clothes, and blankets. Outside on the screened in lanai, comfortable table and chairs. A beach wagon, umbrella, and chairs were provided. There were also "scoopers" to use to look for shells! We did call the property manager for a new umbrella, because the one there was broken. The property manager brought one to us the next day. We are so thankful for the umbrella! The bathrooms were clean and orderly. The floor is made of tile, so it stays cool. AC throughout the cottage, making it heavenly when you come in from the beach. We did use the laundry facilities out back. The detergent was provided. We didn't have time to use the grills or outdoor furniture, but they were convenient to the house. The kitchen is perfect! There were plenty of dishes, detergent, and pans to use for cooking. Coffee pot, toaster, and microwave were all working. There wasn't a supply of simple condiments (salt, pepper, etc), but we managed without it for a few days. The oven cooked a little warmer than the temperature it was set to, but we figured that out after our first round of extra crispy cookies. TV was small, but we didn't come to watch the TV. Overall, I would recommend this cottage (#1) to anyone looking to come to the island for a nice stay! The walk to the beach is less than 2 blocks. Most of it is shaded by the trees, and of course flat and paved. The wagon was such a big help, so that we didn't have to carry anything. The "deeded" becah was nice, because there were not a lot of people around the area we were staying. I would recommend renting bikes to travel the island. We did drive around the island, but the bikes were way more fun. Thank you Bridget for letting us use your cottage! We are looking forward to coming back to Sanibel Island soon!"

  • Perfect Place, Perfect Service

"We heard that Sanibel Island was an amazing destination, so we were looking for an affordable place on the island. We found this wonderful three bedroom, two bath home that was spacious for my family of four. The owners were great in looking after every need, and the house was filled with everything you would want for a great beach vacation. We loved the location because of the closeness to the beach, a 7 minute bike ride, and to the closeness of the town, about another 7 minute bike ride in the opposite direction. It was great staying there. The house was clean, in good shape, and the pool was warm and wonderful. We hope to go back to this house some day. Great memories and great owners."

  • Comfortable Sanibel Escape

"We really had a great vacation! This home is very clean, comfortable and well appointed. We had everything we needed and more. The layout of living space, bedrooms and bathrooms worked perfectly. The pool, fun room and balcony sitting area were great. The property is close to the beach by foot or bike. There's a shortcut off the road nearby. Restaurants (many and varied) and stores were nearby too. Debbie, the manager, was quite accommodating and responsive. The owner, Georgianna was quite thoughtful. We stayed over Christmas/New Year's and the house was seasonally decorated. She even left us all Christmas presents! That said, there are a couple things that other renters might want to know before booking. It's mostly second floor living...lots of trips up and down the stairs. And because of the climate on the Sanibel Island, the A/C has to be all the time. These aren't issues for many, but we wished we'd know in advance."

  • Wonderful Vacation Spot on Sanibel

"My husband and I brought our 6 month old daughter to Florida for the month of November, 2015 to visit all our family and decided to stay on Sanibel where it was quiet! The house was perfect for us -- had enough room for the three of us and extra space when my sister-in-law or mother-in-law would stay with us! We loved the newly updated kitchen and back deck with grill. The yard was a great size and we took advantage of the bikes when we could and rode to the fish market. Traffic on the island was only bad in the evenings with all of the people leaving the island, but we thoroughly enjoyed the location of the house because it was close to the causeway, but yet still in a quiet community. We utilized the private beach, which was a short 5 minute drive to get to and would sometimes just walk to the bay beach side to sit by the water. The house itself needs a few, very minor updates (nails protruding on deck and loose curtain rods - which my handy father-in-law fixed. We have a small child so we're more cognizant of these things!) As well, we didn't need our baby monitor when we slept in the master and had her in the other bedroom as there isn't a lot of sound barriers. Overall, wonderful experience and the owners were good to deal with. *Just a note for the owners for ease of future renters: stock a few more cleaning cloths and dish towels :)) Sincerely, Travelers from Canada"
