"We had a wonderful week in this cute beach home on Shell Basket Lane. We come to Sanibel every year and my only complaint is the trip ended too soon. The pool was definitely the main focus for the kids-it was big enough for all of us-2 adults and 3 kids. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook meals, there is a charcoal grill in the back yard, and the rooms are nicely furnished and decorated. The master bed was VERY comfortable. We experienced Tropical Storm Colin while on the island, and some of the landscaping suffered in the high winds, but the grounds-keeping crew was out the next day, cleaning up and mowing. The house is situated near the Sanibel Beach Club and Coquina Beach complexes, which you pass on your easy 1 block walk to the beach. Convenient to all that Sanibel has to offer-shopping, restaurants, wildlife refuge, lighthouse, beach, etc. Easy bike ride to many shops and restaurants. We recommend the Sanibel Fish House, The Lazy Flamingo, Doc Ford's, The Blue Giraffe, The Over Easy Cafe and Zebra Treats as some of our favorite spots for island grub. We always explore the Bailey Tract, and have seen alligators and a bobcat in years past. Go to the Periwinkle Park campground/RV park to check out the tropical birds, lemurs and monkeys! We love the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum and the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge, also. Tarpon Bay Explorers is a great place to rent kayaks or a boat to check out dolphins and manatees. We will rent this lovely home again!"
