  • Wonderful Cottage

"My mother and I visited Sanibel Island for the first time. We found "Driftwood Inn" cottage to be quite charming. Bridget was extremely helpful from the first contact until our departure. We arrived on Friday afternoon, and found the cottage easily. The locks on the door were electronic (handy and convenient), so we did not have to keep up with a key to the house. It was very clean and tidy. There were extra towels, wash clothes, and blankets. Outside on the screened in lanai, comfortable table and chairs. A beach wagon, umbrella, and chairs were provided. There were also "scoopers" to use to look for shells! We did call the property manager for a new umbrella, because the one there was broken. The property manager brought one to us the next day. We are so thankful for the umbrella! The bathrooms were clean and orderly. The floor is made of tile, so it stays cool. AC throughout the cottage, making it heavenly when you come in from the beach. We did use the laundry facilities out back. The detergent was provided. We didn't have time to use the grills or outdoor furniture, but they were convenient to the house. The kitchen is perfect! There were plenty of dishes, detergent, and pans to use for cooking. Coffee pot, toaster, and microwave were all working. There wasn't a supply of simple condiments (salt, pepper, etc), but we managed without it for a few days. The oven cooked a little warmer than the temperature it was set to, but we figured that out after our first round of extra crispy cookies. TV was small, but we didn't come to watch the TV. Overall, I would recommend this cottage (#1) to anyone looking to come to the island for a nice stay! The walk to the beach is less than 2 blocks. Most of it is shaded by the trees, and of course flat and paved. The wagon was such a big help, so that we didn't have to carry anything. The "deeded" becah was nice, because there were not a lot of people around the area we were staying. I would recommend renting bikes to travel the island. We did drive around the island, but the bikes were way more fun. Thank you Bridget for letting us use your cottage! We are looking forward to coming back to Sanibel Island soon!"

  • A relaxing week

"Everything was terrific and as advertised. Everything was clean and in order. We found it better to rent a house vice hotel room. More room to stretch out, a kitchen when you want to stay in, and laundry without having to change floors. The neighborhood is extremely quite and 2 blocks from beach is a workable distance, especially with the bikes and the trailer!! My only request is although there are plenty of pots and pans, a non-stick pan would be so much better. The owner provided me his contact info and answered all of questions in short order. We especially liked the binder with the local restaurants. We will recommend this property to our family and friends. The following are the restaurants we ate at in (all were good, some a little better than others), Of the places I remember eating Traders, something Cow, and the Italian joint were great. We never left the island all week. We look forward to returning, even for a shorter period."

  • This home is a WINNER!

"We stayed in this beautiful home in August and it was wonderful. The place is very well maintained and exceptionally clean. The kitchen looks brand new and was fully stocked with every thing we needed. The living room was comfortable and large enough for all of us to watch t.v. There a two nice size bedrooms on the first floor that share a bathroom and a huge loft upstairs with a private bath. The home is very open and spacious. Everyone who rents from VRBO knows the most important thing is cleanliness and trust me this place is very clean and in great condition. The main selling feature for me was the backyard pool which was a wonderful way to end a hot day at the beach. The kids loved coming home to our private pool and swimming while my husband grilled dinner. We also loved the large lanai for eating meals and playing cards at night. The location of this house is perfect. It is an easy walk to both the gulf and the bay. An ice cream parlor, bakery, deli, and convenience store is a quick 2-minute walk. My husband loved walking over in the morning for coffee, newspaper, and a “Sanibel Blossom” (make sure to try one at the bakery – they are delicious) and the kids loved running over at night for ice cream. We really loved our vacation on Sanibel and will certainly be re-booking this vacation home. Trust me - you won’t be disappointed."

  • Family Vacation 2016

"This condo was amazing! The booking process was easy and no hassle. The pictures were true to life. It was clean and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was awesome with it's high-end fixtures, cabinets and countertops. The breakfast bar was perfect for my four children. We only cooked a couple times, but it had all the tools we needed. The condo was very functional for my family of six. The views from the balcony and the rooftop deck were like none other. They were perfect for my morning cup of coffee. The beach area wasn't crowded at all. My boys loved seeing who could find the most beautiful shells everyday. We loved Sanibel and this Beachfront Penthouse! I only wish we could have stayed longer!
