  • Wonderful Cottage

"My mother and I visited Sanibel Island for the first time. We found "Driftwood Inn" cottage to be quite charming. Bridget was extremely helpful from the first contact until our departure. We arrived on Friday afternoon, and found the cottage easily. The locks on the door were electronic (handy and convenient), so we did not have to keep up with a key to the house. It was very clean and tidy. There were extra towels, wash clothes, and blankets. Outside on the screened in lanai, comfortable table and chairs. A beach wagon, umbrella, and chairs were provided. There were also "scoopers" to use to look for shells! We did call the property manager for a new umbrella, because the one there was broken. The property manager brought one to us the next day. We are so thankful for the umbrella! The bathrooms were clean and orderly. The floor is made of tile, so it stays cool. AC throughout the cottage, making it heavenly when you come in from the beach. We did use the laundry facilities out back. The detergent was provided. We didn't have time to use the grills or outdoor furniture, but they were convenient to the house. The kitchen is perfect! There were plenty of dishes, detergent, and pans to use for cooking. Coffee pot, toaster, and microwave were all working. There wasn't a supply of simple condiments (salt, pepper, etc), but we managed without it for a few days. The oven cooked a little warmer than the temperature it was set to, but we figured that out after our first round of extra crispy cookies. TV was small, but we didn't come to watch the TV. Overall, I would recommend this cottage (#1) to anyone looking to come to the island for a nice stay! The walk to the beach is less than 2 blocks. Most of it is shaded by the trees, and of course flat and paved. The wagon was such a big help, so that we didn't have to carry anything. The "deeded" becah was nice, because there were not a lot of people around the area we were staying. I would recommend renting bikes to travel the island. We did drive around the island, but the bikes were way more fun. Thank you Bridget for letting us use your cottage! We are looking forward to coming back to Sanibel Island soon!"

  • Fantastic family beach vacation

"I booked this condo at Sandalfoot for our first trip to Sanibel Island and a long overdue family vacation with our two teenage children. We absolutely loved it! Owner and condo office staff were very helpful. The condo was equipped with everything we needed including beach chairs and umbrella and it's location is on the same floor as the laundry facilities, which was very handy. The beds are comfy and its decorated very nicely. The complex and condo were quiet except for the occasional foot steps from the floor above. The beaches were full of shells and not too crowded. There was quite a bit of sea grass on the beach while we were there but that was not a big deal and they are still beautiful. We rented bikes and road all over the island visiting the lighthouse and historical sites. The restaurants were also fabulous, our favorites were The Lazy Flamingo, Island Cow, Matzaluna Italian Restaurant and the Bubble Room in Captiva. Pinnochio's was also a favorite stop for ice cream! The island is peaceful, relaxing and we definitely hope we can return to Sanibel and this Sandalfoot condo! Although next time I think we will fly into Fort Myers instead of driving from SW Missouri :) it was a very long drive. Thanks for providing a great place to stay on one of our favorite family vacations!"

  • No Problems

"Our family enjoyed our stay at this home very much. We found it clean, well furnished and with lots of toys for our family to use. There were several bikes and two kayaks one of which was a two person kayak. The location is easy on and off the island. We have stayed at the West end before and will never do that again. IT is close to the beach and shopping. We recommend this home to anyone. The owners are easy to work with and our deposit was returned in 10 days no problem."

  • Relaxing beach vacation

"What a great, relaxing week on Sanibel! This condo is perfect. We stayed 3/5-3/12 -- a family of 5, kids age 8.7 and 4. This place was great, both in terms of location on the island and the actual condo. We were steps away from the pool, which was never overcrowded, as well as minutes from the beach. I will say that the beach is not the plush beach we were expecting but still nice and great for shelling. I can't say enough about the beds in this condo, SO COMFORTABLE!! The kitchen has anything you would need to prepare meals and having the washer and dryer was so nice. Plenty of space to spread out. Beach accessories was an added bonus. We rented bikes from Billy's bike rental and rode bikes everywhere. On the last day my son accidentally locked us out of the apartment and VIP rentals was over within 10 minutes to get us another key. Thank you for a wonderful, truly relaxing vacation!"
