  • Mid-July on Sanibel

"We keep coming back to Villa Sanibel 3A for many reasons. We have tried other resorts and units in Villa Sanibel but prefer 3A because we have an assigned parking space right outside the entry door; we have no steps to climb since it is a ground floor unit; it is non-smoking; it is fully furnished; when we walk out thru the lanai, we are at the pool; just a short walk down the driveway and we are at the beach; there are several visitor parking spaces (unlike some other resorts); a short walk to the bike baths; a short bike ride to the grocery store, CVS and other shopping; and there is a BBQ right next to the pool . After trying several different weeks in June and July, we like the weeks starting after the 4th as a little quieter and meeting returning renters we met from previous years. Every year we have met different European travelers who have interesting info to share. Yes, it is hot in July but it is nice and cool in 3A. Sanibel Holiday manages the registration for 3A and is a great resource for information and assistance with personal needs. There are many good restaurants on Sanibel/Captiva and Sanibel Holiday as well as other guests at Villa Sanibel are great sources for recommendations. This year, relatives decided to rent another unit to experience all of what they have heard about Sanibel Island and Villa Sanibel. Much time was spent looking for unique shells to discuss and take home."

  • Very enjoyable stay

"We had a very pleasant stay at this unit. It was very clean, extremely well-equipped. However, the view of the Gulf was a big disappointment--the pictures were taken before the trees grew much taller! Still, the walk to the Gulf is short and rather just look at it, walking on it is even more enjoyable! Yes, there was truck traffic in the morning even with the doors closed you could hear it but it was quiet until 7:30-8:00am when it is time to get up and enjoy the day anyway--not really a negative. The pool was warm, sparkling clean, plenty of chairs and tables. The check-in experience was fine--everyone in the office is helpful and pleasant. While you are reminded several times to take out the trash not until the email with check-out instructions (the day before check-out) is recycling mentioned. At that point, not seeing recycling bins or any mention of recycling in the unit we assumed they do not recycle at the complex. It was great fun digging through our trash, brushing coffee grounds off plastic, glass and paper so we could obey wasn't pleasant. Then when we got to the trash bins there weren't any recycling cans. When I mentioned this at check-out I found out that the recycling cans are in another trash area on the other side of the building. Perhaps a second trash can labeled "Recyclables" in the unit would be helpful. For that to be the only negative comment shows how great our stay was! Will definitely be back--hopefully next time we'll be able to stay long enough to read some of the books while we enjoy the screened-in lanai spaces! Thanks for sharing your wonderful piece of paradise!"

  • Stress free Sanibel

"I chose this complex for its simple beauty, its large & pretty swimming pool, & its immediate access to the beach. The photos & reviews convinced me that Melissa's condo would be a very clean, comfortable & visually pleasing place in which to savour our 9 days of leisure. It was all of that. We cooked all our meals in the well equipped & efficient kitchen, always dining on the lanai to enjoy the ocean view. Other than a taxi to/from the airport we explored Sanibel by bicycle & on foot and never missed having a car. Melissa is the perfect property manager, warm, friendly, helpful & unobtrusive. She affirms her availability should you need her & truly wants you to enjoy your stay & her condo. It was a pleasure to deal with her. Thank you Melissa for the privilege of staying in your condo."

  • Sanibel sun and fun!

"We spent a wonderful week at Sandollar C204. The condo was spotless and very comfortable. The weather was hot and the pool was a welcome respite. The complex was not busy so we had the pool to do our laps pretty much when we wanted. We really enjoyed the lanai as we had a few storms and watched from the lanai. Everything in the condo worked well and the decor was awesome. The grounds were well groomed and clean. We rented bikes for the week and rode all over the island. Shopping at Bailey's for supplies is always fun and we enjoyed several of our favorite restaraunts and a few new ones as well. A great trip and a great place to call home for a week staying at Sandollar. Looking forward to going back!!!"
