  • Very nice older property.

"Plus: Very neat & clean. Pine Cove has been a favorite of ours over the years; 1st time in this unit. Minus: The lack of a light over the dining area was a big minus. The east-most sliding door in the living room is in-operable (needs new rollers). The silverware needed attention: 2 tb, 1 TB, & 1 soup spoon were the extent of the spoons. The majority of the knives all had bent ends; can't imagine what they were used for!! The 2nd bedroom was tight for 4 people in 2 full beds; OK for kids. We ate all suppers out: Timbers and Traders are still our favorites; and Sweet Mellissa's for a real treat. Next year we'll have 6 adults & 2 grandchildren, so we'll need a larger unit."

  • Heaven on earth!

"First let me say that my husband and I LOVE Sanibel Island and it was a life long dream to spend a month there after we retired. This home was the absolute PERFECT place for us. Close to the beach, yet completely private nestled in the trees. It was just as described in the listing and was very clean. So wonderful to have a washer and dryer to use as well. The house itself was also perfect. The size and floor plan allowed us to have company for a week yet giving them their own bedroom with TV and bathroom isolated from ours. The kitchen is well stocked which was nice as we ate in most of the time. Having a gas grill also helped to make easy meals which gave us more time on the beach. The pool associated with this house is shared by a few houses, but we rarely saw other people swimming. It was also set at a very comfortable warm temperature. The owner communicates well although you are also dealing with a property management group on Sanibel which initially was confusing. Overall wonderful experience and hope to go back!"

  • Lovely holiday week at Pointe Santo on Sanibel Island

"This condo right on the beach was great and worth the cost of being so close to the gulf. The views and surf were amazing. We lucked out and the weather was fantastic, aside from a cooler day at the end of the week. The kitchen was very well stocked, and aside from dull knives (my husband, the chef, is very snobbish about knives), we had everything we needed in the cooking utensil/pots and pans arena. The downside, and reason for knocking off a star, is that it would have been nice if VIP rental and/or the owners would have told us things like there is no salt and pepper (Florida law, we were told), there were only a few dishwasher pods, minimal laundry soap, a few trash bags, etc). I asked VIP and was told they give renters a "starter kit" to get them through a few days. For what we paid, this was very cheap on their part. Future renters - you will love this place, but if you don't want to waste money on the things mentioned, bring some from home. The salt and pepper was a shock, but luckily our niece arrived before us so we scammed some from a food court in the airport, since we arrived late on Christmas Eve and stores were not open. One really nice thing VIP did was let us know that Bailey's (the local everything store) would deliver food even if nobody was in the condo yet, so we had enough food for Christmas day when everything (even all restaurants) was closed aside from 7 Eleven. To sum up, Sanibel is the place to be if you love unspoiled beaches, nature and less commercialism. This condo was very comfortable and we don't regret paying extra to be as close to the gulf as it gets."
