  • Our go to house in Sarasota

"We have stayed in this house several times while in town visiting family. The house is well appointed and comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet and feels safe. The location is close to shopping and restaurants. The manager has always been very helpful."

  • Modern "Cottage" Home in an Exceptional Location

"Chose this property as home base for my husband and I and four extended family members who were participants in the 2017 Sarasota Music Half Marathon. The home accommodated the six of us perfectly. It was also comfortable when five additional family members joined us to watch the Super Bowl...just wish those Falcons could have held onto their lead?? There is plenty of off street parking. The entry off the carport is convenient for unloading. The kitchen/dining/living great room concept provides ample room for socializing. The screened porch in back is a very peaceful location to start and/or end the day. The three bedrooms are all furnished such that one can unpack and "feel at home" as opposed to living out of a suitcase. There are ample hangers in each closet. The mattresses & bedding/linens are comfortable. We had plentiful hot water - even with all six of us showering within a short timeframe. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, kitchen gadgets, dishes, flatware, and the all important wine glasses. This property is easily within walkable distance to downtown, the waterfront, etc. provided one enjoys a walk - more than a mile, through residential neighborhoods - allowing one to forgo the hassle/frustration of finding parking and to enjoy the beauty of their surroundings. Maureen is a responsive landlord interested in doing whatever she can to insure your stay is comfortable. A terrific bonus was the library of "Sarasota" magazines on property with abundant and varied information on the area. The home specific binder was also very detailed and informative in regards to the property. We will definitely stay here again when in the Sarasota Area and would not hesitate to recommend this property to friends/family."

  • Great Place to Stay and Relax

"My family and I stayed at the Shell Beach House last month and we had a wonderful time. The owner was very accommodating and friendly. The house is huge with lots of room. We had 6 adults and three children and never felt crowded. There was only three houses between us and the small beach at the end of the road. The beach is public but because the public area is so small, it had very little traffic, night or day. We saw manatees, manta rays and tarpon in the shallows and there was always someone catching fish. We look forward to visiting again next year."

  • Wonderful floor plan, plentiful parking

"We rented the Pink Flamingo for 3 weeks in January. The house has an open floor plan. You enter into the dining area (after the foyer), which opens to the living room to the left (more spacious than the pictures make it look and has sliding doors out to the pool), and the kitchen straight ahead. The kitchen is separated from the living room by a high counter. There is a small kitchen table, and many pots and pans, plates and silverware, wine glasses and 16 oz cups. Much of the cookware has seen better days, and some needed a good scrubbing on the outside to remove grease. There were not any cocktail size glasses or small cups (suitable for children.) The master suite is off the dining room and has doors that open to the screened-in pool. The suite is very spacious, with a king-size bed, walk in closet (which housed a highchair, extra bed, pack & play, iron, and ironing board.) A nice vanity is built in, and the bathroom has a large shower and 2 sinks. There are 2 twin bedded rooms off the foyer. One has a day bed with extra bed underneath. The queen bedded-room is down the hall, which connects the garage to the dining room. That bedroom has no windows which open, but there is a door direct to outside. We were instructed not to open it. There is a private bathroom with a large shower which is handicapped accessible. We had a problem with the toilet, which eventually got fixed. The bed is comfortable for one person, but should be replaced for a couple. It sinks in the middle. The washer & dryer are in a closet in the hallway. We paid for the pool to be heated, and that was wonderful. The pool was cleaned every week. There are many towels (beach and regular,) as well as pool and beach toys. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood (other than the occasional siren from the fire station nearby.) It could have been cleaner. It was superficially clean, but when I went to open some windows (our weather was perfect for letting in some fresh air), the middle of the window (the check rail) was absolutely filthy. After the toilet was fixed, I was cleaning up and noticed that the floor was dirty in the corners and behind the toilet. The garage is big enough for 2 cars, but you would need to collapse the table. The driveway easily fit 4 cars. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much. With a few improvements, this would be a five star review."
