  • Cutest place in paradise

"I have stayed at the SurfShack on 3-4 different occasions, I love it and I think you will as well. Jim is wonderful and has provided everything that you possibly need for a great get away! The cottage is so cute, comfortable and close to the beach, restaurants, drug store etc. I have had a car there in the past, but, honestly you don't need one of you plan on just staying on the key. Usually just ride my bike to the beach or call for free ride (just give them tips). It's a great service, brings you door to door morning, afternoon or night! Beach chairs, cooler, towels, sheets, washer, dryer..etc are provided. There are two great areas to lounge if you don't feel like going to the beach.. on the canal or in the yard which has privacy. Make dinner there, cook out on the grill, or just a short walk to many great restaurants, bars, ice cream shops! ,Honestly, Jim has remembered everything. Just pack your bags and relax. The only problem with me writting this.. Is now it may not be available when I want to go back! LOL. Enjoy your trip to paradise!"

  • The owner was really sweet and helpful, the property was functional and comfortable & well appointed

"Our overall experience with the property was good. There were a few circumstances outside of the control of the owner which affected our stay. The property immediately adjacent to the property is being renovated and the workers parked all over the road on a very narrow residential street, they also worked into the night. We also had the misfortune of having storm Hermine come through during our stay which shortened our stay, which while unfortunate, was not something the owner could have done anything to prevent or make our stay more enjoyable. John, the owner was very considerate and helpful during our stay. He made himself available for issues that arose during our stay and did his best to assist us and to accommodate our needs, we appreciated his willingness to be helpful, from a distance, especially since this was our first visit to the area. John's property is very cute, and good for a traveling couple, I would not recommend the property for children, there is really no yard and the pool is very small, and the interior decor is furnished for adults and not children. If you are looking for a quiet getaway to the area in a unique home with character this place may be for you."

  • Vintage Grand

"My husband and I recently stayed in one of the vintage grand units for a week. We originally wanted a place on the beach in Siesta Key however decided a short drive would be alright; we were so pleased that the drive time to the beach was so short (10 minutes with spring break traffic). If we chose not to go to the beach, there were 2 beautiful pools AND a hot tub right in the complex! We were absolutely thrilled to see that the unit was exactly the same as the pictures we had seen! It was very clean and well stocked with things we wouldn't have even thought to bring (hangers, coffee filters, etc). We were staying there during Easter & were welcomed by Cadbury Eggs & a happy Easter card. The complex was quiet which is exactly what we asked for. Any time I had a question about something (even little, silly things) I called or sent a quick email to Bea and had an answer within a very short period of time; the answers were always positive & helpful too which was great!! My husband and I love coming to Florida and will absolutely rebook this property again & again!!"

  • Cozy, Convenient, and Charming

"This studio unit was nicely appointed. It had a well-stocked modern kitchen and the bathroom was very spacious with a lot of natural light. The complex, grounds, pool and laundry areas are well maintained. It is walking distance (or a quick bicycle ride) to shops, grocery stores, cinemas, and restaurants. Charming neighborhood. Thank you, again, Marian and Devin."
