  • Cutest place in paradise

"I have stayed at the SurfShack on 3-4 different occasions, I love it and I think you will as well. Jim is wonderful and has provided everything that you possibly need for a great get away! The cottage is so cute, comfortable and close to the beach, restaurants, drug store etc. I have had a car there in the past, but, honestly you don't need one of you plan on just staying on the key. Usually just ride my bike to the beach or call for free ride (just give them tips). It's a great service, brings you door to door morning, afternoon or night! Beach chairs, cooler, towels, sheets, washer, dryer..etc are provided. There are two great areas to lounge if you don't feel like going to the beach.. on the canal or in the yard which has privacy. Make dinner there, cook out on the grill, or just a short walk to many great restaurants, bars, ice cream shops! ,Honestly, Jim has remembered everything. Just pack your bags and relax. The only problem with me writting this.. Is now it may not be available when I want to go back! LOL. Enjoy your trip to paradise!"

  • Nice location near I-75. Clean, quiet property, and friendly tenants.

"We loved this property since it was convenient to I-75 and lots of shopping. While not on the water, only a short drive (several miles) to many attractions. Enjoyed St. Armand Circle, Lido Beach, The Ringling complex, Myakka State Park, and so much more. The property was neat and clean and made our stay totally enjoyable!"

  • Wonderful place to stay!!!

"This was really a great place to stay. We use VRBO, everytime we travel. This was by far the best place we have stayed in. We really felt like we were at home, lots of room and accomadations. Everything we needed for a week stay at the beach. Beach towels, coolers, umbrellas...ect. This was really close to the beach for trips back and forth when we needed a break. It was nice having the washer and dryer. Thanks for a great week!!"

  • Our second time at this property.

"When we first found this cottage on line we feel in love with it. After we rented it two years ago we knew we wanted to come back to it. We rented the front two bedroom, two bath unit first and found it to have everything we wanted. It is is so comfortable and well decorated along with being walking distance (we are walkers) to downtown and Whole Foods. This winter we rented the rear unit - a one bedroom, one bath. It was fine but we did miss the space and the ambiance of the two bedroom unit. Oh yes. we were invited to the Potluck at Laurel Park and met some very friendly people. Thanks to Mikelan and Jeff."
