  • Fishing Florida

"This was a good location for launching a week of fishing and kayaking in the glades. The cottage was nice and big - plenty of room for 3 occupants. It could accommodate 6 if two were sharing the king bed and 2 couches were occupied. The place was exceptionally clean and well equipped. We were not around much during the 9-5 hours so we had little to no issue with the constant buzz of the airboats during this time (they are obnoxiously loud and there are many - 40-50+). Afterhours, it was wonderfully quiet - little to no traffic in Everglades city with the grand population of 600 residents. Initial guidance to get to the location was not provided and the ph. numbers were not updated to reflect new contacts. However, with some common sense it was not difficult to sort out where the ferry was, but we had some initial trouble trying to figure out how to contact the folks running the ferry. The ferry required to travel back and forth from the island is a bit inconvenient, requiring one to call ahead to get a ride (a cellphone being a requirement here). Although prompt, it was still something I would have been happy to do without. Overall, it was a nice place to stay, but less a star for the inconvenience of the ferry and the initial trouble with directions & contact info."

  • 2nd year in a row in this wonderful unit

"This is the second year in a row that we stayed in this unit, and in between our stays, the owner upgraded the kitchen, which is beautiful! The kitchen is well stocked with probably every utensil, appliance, pots, pans, etc. that you would ever need. The unit is very clean, and the bedding and furniture still feel and look brand new. The owner is very nice and has always replied very quickly with any question I have had. My previous review has more details, but to clarify, the master bedroom has a partial gulf view and partial pool view, but the view of both the gulf and the pool are mostly obstructed from the enclosed lanai due to the many lush palm trees on the pathway leading to the pool outside below the lanai, but it is a very nice tropical view. The pool is a large saltwater pool, which is nice because you come out feeling relatively clean and there is no smelly chlorine. The grounds are very well kept. There are stairs near the unit and lead to the unit’s covered parking spot. The washer/dryer and elevator are down the hall. Outside the elevator, there was a shopping cart and luggage cart which is helpful on move in/move out day with luggage, and after a trip to Publix (just over the bridge, about 5 minutes away) with lots of groceries. The huge deck with BBQ grills near the beach is great, and it has a covered section with tables and chairs. There was a massive meteor shower while we were there mid-August, and my family went out onto this deck at 5 am until dawn, and saw 20-30 meteors overhead! Siesta Key is well known for it’s fine white powdery sand, and even in the August sun and heat, it never got hot and was very comfortable to walk on it barefoot. If you are an early riser, walking on the beach just after sunrise is beautiful – I even happened to witness a baby sea turtle that had just hatched, make it’s way to the water!"

  • Great Beach Getaway Home!

"I recently stayed here for a girls' getaway. What a great place! It's beautiful, clean and had everything we needed. The pool is beautiful and the house is decorated tastefully. It's only a few steps to the beach ( a couple minutes) and the beach beach chairs provided sure came in handy. I would definitely stay at La Coconut again!"

  • Fabulous for the second time

"This is the second year in a row for my family of four to visit Naples and stay in this beautiful home. It is furnished nicely and has all of the basic amenities that you would ever need. We spent a lot of time enjoying the covered patio, especially during the beautiful sunsets, and spent a lot of time in the pool. The private beach is by far one of the nicest beaches around and all of the beach equipment is available for your use. There are a variety of shopping centers, grocery stores, restaurants and activities all within a very short distance from the house making this a great central location. Shelly and Fred are always so helpful and make the rental process very easy. It's a special place that we will go back to again and again."
