Can't beat the location
"March was a lovely time to be on the bay in Venice. The location is wonderful -- relaxing, filled with birds and an occasional dolphin siting, and plenty of outdoor space for our dog to run. The house itself, although older than other places we've stayed, is very clean and comfortable. The rooms are good-sized, closets are large, and the kitchen is well-stocked. With only two bedrooms we wondered how we would manage a 3 day stay with our son and his family, including two big teenage boys. We brought an air mattress from home that one slept on in the living room along with his younger brother who loved the fold out chair. Space was not a problem. They really enjoyed fishing from the dock. Since our return, Bryan has followed up with an email identifying minor fixes that will make future renters more comfortable. We enjoyed getting to know Bryan and his family and although he lives next door, we saw them only occasionally, providing a wonderful sense of privacy. I would heartily recommend the cottage and we are looking forward to returning next year."

"My family and I had a wonderful vacation at this home. We came in from all parts of the world for Christmas and found this home to be very comfortable. Wonderful beds, linen, plenty of towels and blankets. Big open floor plan with plenty of comfortable couches, big dinning room table for Christmas Dinner. Table for card games or jig saw puzzels that we were working on. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking needs as well as a large, working grill outside on the patio area for grilling steaks or fish. Nice library, reading room that looked out at the front gardens and gave some privacy from the rest of the house. I enjoyed some quiet time in there reading my book, drinking coffee in the morning and watching the squirrels jumping in the trees on the front lawn. We used the bikes everyday to go to the local beach which was about four blocks away. Great Sunsets at "Sharkys" just down on the beach. Easy access to the Venice Avenue where all the shops and great restaurants were. Coming home in the afternoon and showering in the outside shower before a dip in the pool. We attended Christmas services at the beautiful Epiphany Cathedral which was a block from Venice Avenue. We were there for two weeks and never had a need to leave the area. The grocery store was right near by also. Best of all the, owners were very responsive to any of my phone calls leading up to the rental and while I was there. I give this place a A+ rating. Everything was great and my family and I were very happy with the accommodations. Thank you Kevin for the wonderful memories I will take with me. You do a great job managing this property."

"The villa is set in a quiet neighbourhood and has one of the most picturesque back gardens in Florida. The villa is well equipped and well presented. We used the bikes to cylce the legacy trail and also used the golf clubs for a round at Calusa Lakes golf club. The large pool was also well used to cool us down after a day out.
The area itself has many restaurants and eating places. We particularly like the Crow's nest down in Venice.
Venice itself is a quiet town but you can amble around downtown at night. The gelato shop has really good ice cream!
Sarasota and St Armands Circle are only half an hour away. The Ringling Museum in Sarasota and the Edison h
House at Fort Myers are worth a visit. We also went to Myaka State Park where we went looking for 'Gators on the "worlds largest airboat" We also hired bikes and did a bit of cycling."
