  • Enjoyable. Except VRBO failed to provide any information on the rental. Depended on the owner.

"VRBO failed to provide any information on the rental. Had to contact the owner for unit number and how to access the lock box. Have provided other input directly to the owner. I will say that the unit does not have HDTV which is a serious problem. Picture was stretched, sound was bad, sound wasn't with mouths. HDTV needs to be available in any rental."

  • Great house with a great pool!

"This was a great place to stay in St. Simon's Island - we had 5 adults and 2 kids and we all fit perfectly. The three bathrooms were a plus, and we spent almost every moment we weren't at the beach in the pool! It is clean, well maintained, and the owner, Chotsy, was a pleasure to work with. While we didn't walk to the beach, it was an easy, 2-3 minute drive, which allowed us to haul our tent, chairs, cooler, etc. We enjoyed the crab cakes at Barbara Jeans, as well as Iguana's and also ate at Gnat's Landing and Blackwater Grill in the Redfern Village. We enjoyed hopping over to Jekyll Island to see the Sea Turtle Rescue as well as the historic cottages and hotel. This was a great house for kids (age 18 mos and 5 yrs) as well as the adults! Thank you Chotsy!"

  • Great larger family vacation house at the beach

"We vacationed at this historic house with our three grown children, their spouses and four young children aged 2 to 7 years old - 12 people in all. This house has a huge chef-friendly kitchen with virtually everything a chef needs to prepare any kind of meal including a modern large stove, lots of prep area, large refrigerator, two sinks and dishwashers and lots of pots, pans, utensils, china and glasses. Our family has 2 chefs and we ate like kings all week. The dining room is huge and can easily seat 14 adults at one large table and we enjoyed sitting together for all of our meals. The rest of the house is also big. The house is old being built around 1900 and has the original woodwork, doors, and many of the windows. The five bathrooms are a combination of one porcelain bathtub without shower off the master bedroom, and others are bathtub with shower or just a shower. Besides a lot of room inside the three story house, there is a huge porch on both the first and second floors on three sides of the house that make relaxing early in the morning or late at night easy, or to find a quiet spot away from other guest. There is a beautiful lawn in front with large gazebo. There is a library with lots of reading material, especially books about the history of Tybee Island and Georgia's coastal wildlife and attractions. There are several flat screen cable TVs to entertain young and old kids as well as state-of-the-art WiFi. There is a large charcoal grill in the yard off the kitchen door for grilling outside. The beach is a very short walk from the front steps. Prior to and during our stay, I had conversations with three of the owners (all part of one family that grew up in the house) who were friendly, helpful and gracious. This house exudes history and is a great example of 100 year old architecture and charm. Any house this old shows some wear and tear but the experience makes up for any minor visual flaws. Imagine how you would look if you were over 100 years old! Location is great with stores, churches, restaurants, fort, and lighthouse very close. And the beach was magnificent with very few people on the beach because most houses on the beach in this part of the island are all private homes with very limited public beach access."

  • Great location, comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable!

"Nice location at the end of a quiet street....and close to everything...including only a short walk to restaurants, village, and beach. I have been coming to St Simons for several years for the RSM Golf Classic...this place was a perfect location and had all the amenities for a comfortable stay during the week. Rooms are spacious and comfortable...also enjoyed the porch swing. Was perfect place to stay during my visit!"
