  • A true gem on tybee

"We loved this home! Private beach away from the crowds perfect, for those peaceful beach walks. Beautiful home! Perfect for us, 4 adults, 3 kids. We came for the rock n roll marathon and fell in love with this home! Neighbors were great! We've been vacationing in tybee for 5 plus years and feel this is the best place we've stayed yet. A perfect beach experience away from the "beach crowd"."

  • Loved "Y'all Come Inn"

"Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved Paula's Y'all Come Inn and would definitely stay there again. Mermaid Cottages is really good to work with and were always reachable when we had a question or needed help."

  • Simply perfect

"I rented this house with a group of my friends and the house was very accommodating! This is a second time when I’m renting from this owner and it was again an amazing experience from start to finish with this property. There was plenty of space and the kitchen/livingroom was a perfect area for everyone to hangout and relax. There was a lot of seating and the kitchen was very well stocked for those who plan on cooking. Everything is there for you already with the simplest things such as dish soap, pots, pans, dishes, cups, washer and dryer, iron, kitchen towels, cleaners…… The house is in great shape and carefully cleaned and maintained. There are no pictures on website, but kitchen and bathrooms were recently updated. One bathroom has 3 vanities in! Beds are very comfortable, no complaints from anyone. We found the owner to be very responsive and gracious with every inquiry. We enjoyed lots of local restaurants like AJs, The Breakfast Club and Wiley's Barbeque on Wilmington Island. I highly recommend staying here, you really can tell that the owner takes great pride in taking care of her home. Even though we had neighbors this unit had a secluded and very private feeling. Waking up in the morning with the ocean right in front of you was beautiful. It was very easy to go into Savannah each day for sightseeing and eating. I hope we get a chance to stay again!! Thanks again!"

  • Great larger family vacation house at the beach

"We vacationed at this historic house with our three grown children, their spouses and four young children aged 2 to 7 years old - 12 people in all. This house has a huge chef-friendly kitchen with virtually everything a chef needs to prepare any kind of meal including a modern large stove, lots of prep area, large refrigerator, two sinks and dishwashers and lots of pots, pans, utensils, china and glasses. Our family has 2 chefs and we ate like kings all week. The dining room is huge and can easily seat 14 adults at one large table and we enjoyed sitting together for all of our meals. The rest of the house is also big. The house is old being built around 1900 and has the original woodwork, doors, and many of the windows. The five bathrooms are a combination of one porcelain bathtub without shower off the master bedroom, and others are bathtub with shower or just a shower. Besides a lot of room inside the three story house, there is a huge porch on both the first and second floors on three sides of the house that make relaxing early in the morning or late at night easy, or to find a quiet spot away from other guest. There is a beautiful lawn in front with large gazebo. There is a library with lots of reading material, especially books about the history of Tybee Island and Georgia's coastal wildlife and attractions. There are several flat screen cable TVs to entertain young and old kids as well as state-of-the-art WiFi. There is a large charcoal grill in the yard off the kitchen door for grilling outside. The beach is a very short walk from the front steps. Prior to and during our stay, I had conversations with three of the owners (all part of one family that grew up in the house) who were friendly, helpful and gracious. This house exudes history and is a great example of 100 year old architecture and charm. Any house this old shows some wear and tear but the experience makes up for any minor visual flaws. Imagine how you would look if you were over 100 years old! Location is great with stores, churches, restaurants, fort, and lighthouse very close. And the beach was magnificent with very few people on the beach because most houses on the beach in this part of the island are all private homes with very limited public beach access."
