  • Lovely Home with a Beautiful View - Convenient Location for Exploring

"This home provides a peaceful get-away with lovely views of Lake Burton from the mountain above. The location was within 15 minutes of the town of Clayton which has much to offer in the way of shopping and dining, hiking trails to waterfalls including Slippery Rock where adults and kids alike can slide down the falls into a refreshing pool of water below and LaPrade's Marina where you can rent a boat to get out on the lake or just enjoy the lake view from several dining venues. Helen Georgia where my grandsons like to tube on the river is a bit further, but an enjoyable scenic drive. We were there over the July 4th holiday and could see and hear the fireworks over the lake from our deck with the boats gathered on the lake below looking like twinkling stars. Speaking of stars, the view of the night sky from the deck and hot tub was spectacular. The manager provided firewood so that we could enjoy the fireplace in the morning and evening when the weather was cool - the grandkids fashioned sticks from outside into skewers to roast marshmallows and make s'mores. The house is decorated beautifully and the kitchen was stocked with everything needed to prepare meals at home when we didn't want to venture out to local restaurants - breakfast on the deck each morning was delightful."

  • Burton Lake Escape

"The perfect family lake cottage getaway! Comfortable, amazingly well equipped kitchen, with great dockside set up. The views are wonderful, kayaks to enjoy, and memories to be made for little ones. We have been coming for six years, and my grandsons and family have the best memories of fishing, swimming, catching lightning bugs and giggling together at night, with the boys sleeping together in the downstairs hall. There are nine of us - nana, two sets of parents and four little boys. More than enough room for us, and I especially love the fact that it is a gradual slope to the lake with a front yard, and not a steep driveway. Owner is very easy to work with and extremely accommodating!"

  • True to description

"I rented this cabin for 1 night as a group of friends and I were going to hike Tallulah Gorge the following morning. The cabin was very clean, well-stocked, and very true to description. We had plenty of space and everyone raved of how comfortable they were. The landscape is beautiful and even though it was raining, we were still able to grill and enjoy the scenery. The only downside was having to throw our garbage out at the dump which was about a 10 minute drive away but it honestly didn't hamper our trip at all. When we regain strength to go hiking at Tallulah Gorge again, we hope this cabin will be available and that the weather will allow us to enjoy the firepit! I would definitely recommend this cabin and renting from Sue! Such an easy, stress-free experience!"
