  • Wonderful place for a family vacation!

"We loved everything about this home. The many bedrooms allowed for our married children to join us as well as my parents. We had 11 staying at various parts of the week. Because the house is only an hour or so from Atlanta, it made for an easy retreat, without the many hours on the road that it would have taken to get to an ocean/beach. The lake is lovely and pretty peaceful here. We spent hours swimming off the dock. Most restaurants are about 20 minutes drive away, but the kitchen is well equipped for cooking and there is a Publix nearby. We especially appreciated the second coffee maker. We loved the pool table and ping pong as well as the many board games in the closets and cupboards. The lot is very steep, but the steps down to the dock make the trek very manageable. There were many good trees for hanging ENO hammocks. There is lovely original artwork throughout the home as well as shelves and shelves of interesting books. These extra touches made it feel very homey and welcoming. We would highly recommend this home for family vacations."

  • Great house & location

"The house is close to town and has a great central location on the lake. At the end of a cul de sac of a pretty row of houses. Master (California King bed) with master bath is on the main level along with a second bedroom (Queen bed) and bathroom in the hallway for general use or for that room's occupants. Upstairs are bedrooms #3 (Queen bed) and #4 (2 twin beds) with a jack and jill bathroom connecting them. Walk-out basement has a futon in an open game room that also has a pool table and TV. The 5th bedroom is also down in the basement with a single bed and is fine but a bit desolate towards the back across from the 4th bathroom. Dryer in the laundry room is ancient and I don't think it really works but who really wants to do laundry on vacation? Living room on the main level is super comfy with plenty of room for everyone. Views were beautiful. Deck was great. FYI- The treehouse is useless- old musty smell and look inside didn't make it a hangout for the kids."

  • A wonderful place to refresh the soul

"Visiting from Miami, we checked-in August 4th to August 6th the property was description was accurate the location was just what we wanted (fantastic) only needed to bring toothbrush & toothpaste everything was provided. The cabin was very clean, my wife suffers from allergies and was very satisfied with the cabin (especially the bathrooms), fishing poles, seating in the front porch swing relaxing looking into the serene wooded areas was just heavenly. Directions to the cabin and access to the cabin, where to go and things to do in the surrounding area were made easier by the owner. A small seesaw in the yard, large gas grill, basement one bed room with bunk-bed, video games, DVD movies and ping-pong table, flat screen cable TV was more than enough to keep our kids entertained. After a long day of hiking (hiking poles provided), relaxing by the huge fireplace reading all the Appalachian Trail Conservatory, Handyman and Southern Living magazines hit the spot. Visiting Blairsville and Dahlonega restaurants was quite enjoyable, towns folk were all very inviting. Be prepared for the 15 mph winding roads my wife got motion sickness, Yes, we plan to return and recommend you go."
