  • Well supplied & comfy cabin!

"We enjoyed a wonderful few days at this beautiful cabin; wish we could have stayed longer. We have stayed in numerous time shares and cabins through the years and this was the best supplied we could remember. Plenty of kitchen necessities (even a crock pot!), more than enough linens, games, grill, and great fire pit! My kids and I also agreed that the beds were the most comfortable we've ever slept on. I was nervous about driving up the dirt/gravel road; but my 4 cylinder Kia made it in lower gear without any problem. There is so much to do in the area. We went on numerous hikes to several water falls and Tallulah Gorge, shopped, made two trips to Highlands, NC and enjoyed campfires at night. The owner is very attentive and responds quickly. We hope to visit again!!"

"Cottontail Cottage is a haven for peace and quiet if you need it. The minute you walk into the door you feel like the house envelopes you in a hug, you sense the peace in the house and the views are gorgeous. The owners have done beautiful job of decorating the interior with everything you might need. The house has three bedrooms which are lovely and the two baths are filled with bathe and shower. A bath is wonderful after a full day of hiking the mountains in the area. There are books on the shelves along with games for the family and lots of wood for a fire on a cold windy day. The location is central to Clayton, GA, Franklin, TN., Highlands, NC and so many other places. The kitchen has everything you need and is beautifully decorated, for those nights you just want to stay in and this house is so warm and welcoming there are many days we did just that. I highly recommend this house for couples and families. You will not go wrong staying here. We come back here as often as we can, Peter and Debbie will take great care you."

  • Perfect Place to Stay for Day Trips and Relaxing Atmosphere

"The house was perfect: three bedrooms, two full baths with fabulous views of the mountains right out off the front porch. That front porch can become addictive in the late afternoon - watching the horses in the pasture right in front of you with views of the mountains in the background...... and then the fireflies (lightening bugs) come out and it looks like heaven is descending upon you right there in the front yard!!! This home is the best for a Girls' Trip or for a family. The house is very comfortable. You will have all the comforts of home here! We took day trips to Highlands, NC, Otto, NC, Hiawassee, GA, Helen, GA, and Toccoa, GA, and ate and shopped in Clayton, GA on several occasions. My son treated the three of us to a FABULOUS dinner at the SWAG Restaurant (on TOP of the mountain) in Waynesville, NC for my birthday. In Clayton, we ate at the Clayton Café, Fortify (absolutely wonderful service and food and they will be opening a new pizza restaurant soon - right next door with a brick oven!), Clark's on Main, Rumor Hazit and the Cupboard Café in Dillard, Georgia. We did not make the time to eat at the Dillard House Restaurant this time - just simply due to the fact that we could not eat that much food at one time on our time schedule without stopping everything to take a nap. That was a FIRST, though!! We usually won't miss the opportunity to eat at the Dillard Restaurant. We did visit the Dillard House petting zoo, though. The house is surrounded by the Dillard House Inn and Restaurant property with a petting zoo and horseback riding right there. The restaurant is the best around if you are like fresh vegetables and meat and LOTS of it. There is a never ending supply as long as you are eating it. It's all served family style. This was about my fifth or sixth stay at Dillard's Mountain View and I plan to get back there as often as I have the money to travel there!!! LOL! This truly is my favorite place to stay in that area. You can take day trips in all directions and find wonderful things to do and places to visit. Just up the highway from Dillard in Otto, North Carolina is the Culpepper's OTTO DEPOT (Wholesale Salvage Company). Don't miss going there if there is any repurposing or upgrading, re-decorating you're wanting to do!! This place is a salvage museum!! We all loved it..... When I become rich and famous, I am going to buy this place for my personal residence (everyone has a price!!) I wish!!!"
