Recent Hartwell Lake reviews

  • The Hartwell Tree House Cottage was convenient to Downtown Hartwell and other travel destinations.

"Our overall experience was great! Although we didn't do a lot of cooking, there was plenty of cookware available. Both bedrooms were very comfortable with a nice size TV and Xfinity in the living room area. The home was clean and very well maintained and a bowl of snacks was left on the kitchen table with a welcome note, very thoughtful! As nature photographers, we travelled to the quaint city of Helen Georgia and then up to the Ana Ruby falls. Lots to see in North Georgia including old barns and scenic countryside. We would stay here again that's for sure!"

  • Perfect house

"The house was perfect. We had 4 adults, 3 teens and 4 kids as well as our lazy English Mastiff. We enjoyed the layout of the home and the fact that we could use whatever needed to make our stay great. Everything worked! Loved the ring game at the lizard lounge and enjoyed the outdoor fire pit. The spa was hot from the sun, but we enjoyed that as well. My only wishes are that the WiFi had a stronger signal for quick work duties, but we were on vacation so it was fine. Something that isn't mentioned in the description of the house is the double black diamond hill to get down to the dock. Very steep, but doable. The dock was nice, but I really wish the covered slip was made available. With the threat of rain it was a drag to have to cover and uncover our boat. The owner responded quickly to every email and we appreciate them for opening their very nice home to us. I would come back for the house, but unfortunately not the trek up and down the hill or the dock situation."

  • Nice lake house

"We had a very nice stay at the Lone Star. Owner Megan was very responsive before, during, and after our stay. Location is great, quiet cove with minimal boat traffic on the lake. 15 minutes off the interstate and a marina its boat rentals is about 20 minutes away. Handful of non fast-food restaurants within a 15 minute drive as well as a grocery store and CVS. House was exactly as advertised. While not a ton of square footage it is lay out well for two families (4 adults, 5 kids, dog) felt comfortable. Beds were comfortable with plenty of towels. Back porch was great! Short, steep walk to the lake with nice dock and shade. Nice firepit as well, no yard to speak of. I'd definitely recommend staying her for a fun, relatively inexpensive lake weekend!"
