  • Great location, fantastic size but needs updating

"First and foremost, the location and size of this place are great. It is just a short walk downhill and you are right in the middle of downtown Helen. No twisting switchback roads to get there, and you can easily walk into town for dinner, ice cream or to go shopping. Next, the house itself is huge. We had a group of eight ranging from 7 to 70 and everyone had plenty of room. The downstairs is like a small apartment with a small kitchen, living area and bedroom and bath. The upper floors have two queen rooms, a king room and a loft with a double and two twin beds. One could easily fit 10 plus folks very comfortably. The beds are nice and the family room was a focal point. Our kids also liked the pool table, though it is placed in a room that is too small for it. We made do. The drawback is that the place needs updating. The kitchen appliances and cabinets are old. There's one drawer which I never got completely opened. It would also be well served with improved lighting. The furniture was also a bit dated, which is ok, except for when you sink so deep into a sofa that you can't get up without assistance. We also had the hot water issue mentioned by a previous reviewer. We ran out one night which caused some consternation but it was not a problem if we paid attention and didn't run the dishwasher, washing machine and showers at the same time. We made use of the outside deck and the hot tub and had a great trip. Again, great location. Walk to town, short drive to Ruby Falls, Smithgall Woods, trout fishing, etc. Great size, plenty of room. The place just needs some care and updating to get to a five star rating."

  • Charming getaway

"This lovely cabin was just what I needed for a quick getaway to Helen, Ga. The screened in porch is a relaxing place to be surrounded by nature. The butterfly garden had a firepit and a grill ready for use. The full kitchen had all the essentials (coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave, blender, etc.) that I needed to be at home. The bed was comfortable and I was able rest. The cabin is in a community with a golf course and swimming pool. I was surprised at how private the location felt, knowing that Helen was very close by. There are many options for any age and any focus. There are great wineries nearby, as well as shopping opportunities. In addition, there are several state parks nearby with hiking trails and waterfalls. I cannot wait to visit again and stay at this cabin."

  • Truly Cozy

"Had a great stay with friends to ring in 2017. Plenty of space to all be together and celebrate, and private enough for when we wanted less together time, haha. Highly recommend!"
