  • Wonderful mountain stay with excellent location to downtown without being in downtown!

"We went for our daughter's birthday to the Big Bear Lodge and took our whole family. It was a very memorable and run weekend! The mountain cabin experience is definitely worth it and you are within walking distance of downtown but still far enough away to be out of the crowds. Even through the water is low right now, tubing was still very fun for the kids and we ate at Paul's on the River afterwards. Shopping is great in downtown Helen with lots of sweets! The Lodge has a little park by the water that is a great hang out to relax. The owners are fabulous, hard-working people who go out of their way to accommodate your stay and make it a great trip!"

  • Perfect for a romantic get-away

"This cabin was a wonderful place for my husband and me to escape to for 5 wonderful days. We spent most of our time on the amazing back deck. The gas fire pit, grill, and hot tub made it easy to fully enjoy outdoor living. The cabin was very well furnished with comfy couches, plush bedding, comfortable outdoor furniture, and a well stocked kitchen. The complimentary wi-fi was a nice touch. The location was perfect. We felt like we were in a world all by ourselves. We couldn't see any other cabin from ours. However, we were only 4 miles from Ingles Supermarket and Starbucks! We also were just a short 10-15 minute drive to Helen. We couldn't have asked for a better location. The only downfall was the size and organization of the kitchen. We had no cabinet for groceries. This could have been a real issue if we had more than 2 people in the cabin. (For this reason, I couldn't recommend this cabin for more than 2 or 3 people.) Also, the pans/pots/etc. need to be better organized in the lower cabinets. Overall, this cabin was a wonderful escape for us. We frequently book through VRBO and usually have great experiences. This was no different. I would recommend this property (and have) for any couple seeking to get away for a little R and R in the mountains."

  • Friendly owners and spectacular views

"My husband and I along with another couple stayed for the weekend. The owners met us at the townhome, gave us a tour and recommended some things to do and restaurants to try. Two bedrooms upstairs with a bathroom in the middle (both rooms have access to the bathroom from the room). There is a small bathroom downstairs with a small shower which helped when we were in a hurry to get ready. We enjoyed the closed-in patio as well as the outside patio. We spent most of our time in the outside patio playing cards and drinking coffee. Very close to downtown. Literally a walk down the hill and you're in the middle of everything. The walk down is a breeze, going up was a workout! We walked the first night and drove the second because it was just so steep. But if you're up for a challenge, have at it. We loved Bodensee, which was recommended by the owners! We can't wait to go back and we'll be staying here again."

  • Cute Cabin

"Affordable and convenient to Helen. Perfect! The only thing I would add are steps into the hot tub. Being in our 50's it's a bit tricky and could pose a safety risk. We will definetly come back"
