  • Christmas Vacation

"The house is beautifully decorated and has everything except your groceries. We cooked in the well appointed kitchen almost every night. The location is very quiet even though it is adjacent to the Dillard House. My children loved being able to walk to the petting zoo whenever they wanted to. Has wifi and satellite tv. Also, a view of a neighbors horses from the front porch. Convenient to Piggly Wiggly and LaCabana in Dillard. I hate to expose this secret get away because I plan to come back probably for Christmas again next year."

  • Absolutely Perfect for our Thanksgiving Get-together!

"My family all said they had a marvelous time during our stay at your lovely vacation home. We first noticed that the house smelled nice and clean (not due to the strong smell of cleaners, but the air wasn't stale, musty, or foul in the least bit). My husband, three kids, and I slept downstairs. There was PLENTY of room! My parents were so glad that they didn't have to walk down any stairs to get to their bedroom, as it was easily accessible on the main floor. My sister and her children slept in the master bedroom with the king bed and had enough room to use a roll away in there. We loved how open the floor plan was between the kitchen, dining area, and living room! The pictures don't do it justice. We were a little worried that the table and refrigerator were tiny, but that's not the case. The table can easily fit extra chairs to the table. There was PLENTY of pots, pans, cups, silverware, and other kitchen gadgets. They even have a crock pot and a Keurig (as well as a regular coffee maker). The only thing I couldn't find is a cheese grater. Also, if you are planning on roasting a turkey, make sure you bring your own turkey roaster (which we did). I noticed that where the kitchen sink spray nozzle sits is not sealed, so you might want to fix that before water damage starts. Also, the downstairs sliding glass door is REALLY hard to open and close. I had to throw all my weight into it to open and close it (and I don't consider myself a weakling). Maybe you can leave a note by the phone saying that long distance is free. It is stated somewhere on your listing, but I forgot. Also, maybe you can provide a list of basic supplies that you provide and/or that renters need to bring (such as trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap). Believe it or not, it took me forever to find the trash can so maybe you could make a note of exactly where the trash cans are. I have never seen a trash can like that so I didn't know what I was looking for, until my dad told me that he noticed that when he walked around he noticed everyone's trashcans were in the ground. The only bad thing that happened, which wasn't the owner's fault at all, is that sometimes we couldn't go outside due to the air quality. If you check the news (we stayed there Nov. 23-26, 2016), you'll see that people are purposely setting the forests on fire in North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina. Thankfully, the fires didn't threaten us, but, at times, the smoke kept us indoors. Thanks!!!"

  • Incredible home for any type of vacation!!!!!

"Wow! What a wonderful place! Thank you so very much for sharing your beautiful home and your fabulous boat with us!!!! The views of the lake and the location on the lake are incredible! We can't tell you how much fun we had and what a wonderful layout your home is! We had 10 kids and 9 adults, and we all were very, very comfortable!!!! There is so much space to spread out, and not be on top of each other! We actually would lose each other every once in a while, the house is so large! It was easy to be part of the crowd or have your own private time. The house couldn't have been more comfortable! We absolutely loved it!!! We hope you rent it for years to come... we would love to continue to come year after year! We enjoyed every living space of your home and visiting with our family! We cooked hamburgers on the biggest grill i've ever seen! We roasted marshmallows in the outdoor fireplace, while hanging out in the adirondack chairs! The kids loved the ping pong table and the bunk room! They hung up their Eno's in the woods, played everywhere and had so much fun with the canoe and the floats! We swam, we boated, we tubed. We went to sliding rock, some of our crazies jumped off the bridge off Hwy 76 into the lake! We played cards and games at the big dining room table, while others enjoyed the comfy furniture in the living room and the huge flat screen tv. I could just go on and on! It was an incredible vacation that we will enjoy in our minds for years to come! And hopefully make more great memories there! You obviously thought of everything, every detail from comfort and relaxing, to cooking, and having fun! Thank you for sharing your home with us!"

  • Fabulous quick getaway to the lake

"A repeat stay for us at Flying Horse Lodge. The lodge is as before, just perfect, with all the amenities and the weather was beyond belief. The fall leaves just starting to turn, they will be spectacular in a week or two. Took a canoe excursion and explored the upper lake and the river, really peaceful. We recommend Flying Horse for couples and families. Cooked out at the fire pit. There is plenty to do. We'll come back next year."
