  • Great cabin!!!

"Excellent cabin that met our needs perfectly! We loved the wonderful views from the screened back porch and spent most of our time there while at the cabin. Our visit was only for a weekend with 4 friends, but we packed a lot in that short time. Visited Helen and hiked up the 1/2 mile trail to see Anna Ruby Falls....beautiful. Do it ! The leaves were not at their peak, but just starting to turn. We drove to Dahlonega GA for the Gold Rush Days festival and it was fabulous. Upon our departure on Sunday, we drove to Dillard GA and had lunch at the Dillard House. It is definitely worth the drive!!! We loved this cabin and the only recommendation we have is that the owner installs wifi."

  • Quaint, Cozy with Beautiful lake views.....

"Hi Donald, We want to thank you for allowing us to rent your beautiful lake house on Lake Burton. It was perfect for our family. Cozy comes to mind, beautifully decorated with awesome lake views. As I had shared previously, we were looking for a cottage where we could kickoff the Holiday Season a bit early. We brought with us Christmas DVD's, hot chocolate, eggnog, sparkling apple juice (non-alcoholic) and purchased something new from Scandinavia called Glogg at The Old General Store, but I was the only one that seemed to like the drink. We loved the screened in porch, family room and kitchen as we congregated there the most. We also located what we believe to be the best cinnamon rolls in Georgia near Cleveland (The Country Bake Shoppe) and a great little coffee shop (Sweetwater Coffee Shoppe) with friendly personnel and great coffee. Thanks for recommending Helen at night because the Christmas Lights were a glow. Very beautiful at night. During the day we visited Goats on the Roof on the way to Talulah Gorge for some delicious fudge and we sampled several - all were delicious. Everyone agrees that our most memorable experience came on the coldest night (around 40 degrees at the time) when I convinced our group to venture down to the dock to look at the stars. We brought two sleeping bags that we had brought with us from home and we were awestruck by to beauty of God's Creation on display right in front of us. Something that you will never see in Atlanta (because of light pollution, smog, etc.). We could easily see the Milky-way, constellations and planets (we used our SkyView star gazer app). We all (5 of us) wrapped up the best that we could, laid on our backs and gazed into the heavens - none of us thinking about the cold. Moments later a huge falling star streaked across the sky covering most of it followed by shouts of cheers (guys) and screams (girls, Lol). We must have laid there for an hour in the cold and spotted a dozen more falling stars before returning to the cabin for more hot Glogg and Cocoa before watching another Christmas DVD. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful lake house. We will never forget the new tradition and wonderful memories that started there. God Bless, The Farris'"

  • Perfect for my family!!

"Our stay at Cannon Country was absolutely wonderful! For anyone wanting a true Lake Burton experience, this home is perfect. I stayed there for a week with my 3 children (ages 4 through 13) and the set up of Cannon Country was exactly what we needed. The cove is peaceful with a swim platform and boathouse excellent for swimming, fishing, and kayaking. We were very close to Sugar Mill for picking up any essentials we needed. And the house was incredibly comfortable for our 5 - in fact the kids loved exploring the bunkhouse and the whole property. And the hospitality of the owners was warm and accommodating. As someone who grew up on Burton, this home is truly the type of lake environment that reminded of my childhood and I would highly recommend it for anyone searching for an authentic lake experience."
