  • Beautiful Home.

"My friends and I had a tremendous time at the Flying Horse. The house was beautiful and extremely comfortable, and the boathouse was one of he best we've seen. The kayaks and canoes were a big bonus as well. If you're looking for a quiet weekend away with friends or family (the house could easily fit two families of four), this home would be hard to beat. The hosts were very responsive as well!"

  • Wonderful property on Lake Burton!

"We stayed at this home over Labor Day weekend with 2 families of 4 and our dog and had a wonderful time- the lot is perfect & flat in a quiet cove- we very much enjoyed hanging out on top of the gorgeous boathouse and relaxing in the 2 hammocks, the porch swing, or around the table while the kiddos swam safely off the dock. There was also a nice canoe and kayak we could use. The house is very quaint and had everything we needed. The hot tub on the back deck overlooking the lake was also very nice. The owner Bob was great to work, flexible on arrival/ departing times, and very responsive when we had trouble getting the AC to come on at first (our fault- it totally worked fine!) Would highly recommend it and would definitely return."

  • Incredible home for any type of vacation!!!!!

"Wow! What a wonderful place! Thank you so very much for sharing your beautiful home and your fabulous boat with us!!!! The views of the lake and the location on the lake are incredible! We can't tell you how much fun we had and what a wonderful layout your home is! We had 10 kids and 9 adults, and we all were very, very comfortable!!!! There is so much space to spread out, and not be on top of each other! We actually would lose each other every once in a while, the house is so large! It was easy to be part of the crowd or have your own private time. The house couldn't have been more comfortable! We absolutely loved it!!! We hope you rent it for years to come... we would love to continue to come year after year! We enjoyed every living space of your home and visiting with our family! We cooked hamburgers on the biggest grill i've ever seen! We roasted marshmallows in the outdoor fireplace, while hanging out in the adirondack chairs! The kids loved the ping pong table and the bunk room! They hung up their Eno's in the woods, played everywhere and had so much fun with the canoe and the floats! We swam, we boated, we tubed. We went to sliding rock, some of our crazies jumped off the bridge off Hwy 76 into the lake! We played cards and games at the big dining room table, while others enjoyed the comfy furniture in the living room and the huge flat screen tv. I could just go on and on! It was an incredible vacation that we will enjoy in our minds for years to come! And hopefully make more great memories there! You obviously thought of everything, every detail from comfort and relaxing, to cooking, and having fun! Thank you for sharing your home with us!"

  • Great mountain retreat

"My husband and I rented this lovely home for a month and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home is large enough for 3 couples to relax and have plenty of privacy. We took advantage of the pontoon boat for rent by the owners and enjoyed 2 wonderful days on the lake. We also went jet skiing at Lake Chatuge, hiking numerous times at Hemlock Hills, shopping in Highlands, NC and Helen and even found time for 2 days at the Kingswood Spa in Clayton. The owners, Diane and Bill, were delightful and very accommodating. They have stocked the home with everything you could ask for. This is the perfect place to escape the Florida heat and enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the mountains and Lake Burton. Our favorite spot was on the covered porch off the dining room watching the hummingbirds drink the sugar nectar and listening to the band play at nearby LaPrade's Marina."
