  • Great Getaway

"Chocolate Moose is a great getaway nestled among peaceful sounds and scenery. A great place to relax but also very convenient and conducive to outdoor activities or venturing to nearby towns. The decor is unique and very appealing with a great selection of colorful artwork and other features. Our favorite was the screened porch with the swing bed. That has inspired us to have one built for our porch! The pictures show window coverings which look so nice but the windows did not have anything on them which was a disadvantage because of a greater lack of privacy on each side of the cabin where there are neighbors. This would be my main suggestion as far as any changes and also maybe a more efficient coffee maker. I still rate the property as excellent and would stay again."

  • Lovely Home with a Beautiful View - Convenient Location for Exploring

"This home provides a peaceful get-away with lovely views of Lake Burton from the mountain above. The location was within 15 minutes of the town of Clayton which has much to offer in the way of shopping and dining, hiking trails to waterfalls including Slippery Rock where adults and kids alike can slide down the falls into a refreshing pool of water below and LaPrade's Marina where you can rent a boat to get out on the lake or just enjoy the lake view from several dining venues. Helen Georgia where my grandsons like to tube on the river is a bit further, but an enjoyable scenic drive. We were there over the July 4th holiday and could see and hear the fireworks over the lake from our deck with the boats gathered on the lake below looking like twinkling stars. Speaking of stars, the view of the night sky from the deck and hot tub was spectacular. The manager provided firewood so that we could enjoy the fireplace in the morning and evening when the weather was cool - the grandkids fashioned sticks from outside into skewers to roast marshmallows and make s'mores. The house is decorated beautifully and the kitchen was stocked with everything needed to prepare meals at home when we didn't want to venture out to local restaurants - breakfast on the deck each morning was delightful."

  • A Wonderful Lake Burton Experience

"Our family vacation at this property was exceptional. The home is clean and offers room to spread out or enjoy being all together in one spot. The kitchen is practical, and the eating space plentiful. The bedrooms are versatile for couples, singles and children. The living space is simple with room to kick back and watch a movie, play games or enjoy a full on family ping pong or pool tournament. The setting of the house allows views of the lake while enjoying the lush shade of the woods. The dock and boathouse are great places to gather by the water. We like up the river out of the way of boat traffic, but enjoy a short boat ride out into the main body to take in the beautiful views of moutains and lake. We are looking forward to a return visit to this terrific lake house."
