"Several of our adult family members had "decade" birthdays during 2016. With our having just moved to Atlanta in the last two years, many of our siblings hadn't been in this part of the country, so this was a great reason to get together and we decided upon Lake Lanier. The home was very clean and well maintained and it has all the dishes and glassware we could ever need. The main level kitchen was very large and well appointed! The second, more than fully equipped kitchen on the lower level made using the backyard gas grill handy one for one of our evening meals and the patio seating was plentiful. The view from the home's back porch and deck was wonderful, and since it faces east, the sunrises were pretty, too! The driveway goes down to the house from the road, and part of the drive also goes down to the lower level so we were able to drive our 87 year old 'mom' down to the patio to be with us when we gathered outdoors down there.
The 5 bedrooms, all but one having a bath attached, really helped make the stay comfortable for nearly everyone, including the "outlaws." [The four of us that stayed in the 5th bedroom (the only bedroom without its own bathroom) had to go across the length of the house and down the stairs (or go through someone's bedroom) to reach a bathtub or shower. Fortunately, this was the only slightly awkward arrangement for our all-adults stay.] There were 13 adults in our group, and all but one had an actual bed (only 1 in our group needed to sleep on a sofa-bed).
This is a big house with lots and lots of roomy rooms that allowed us all some private "me time" as well as plenty of spaces to gather all together or to gather in a few smaller groups throughout the weekend. We would definitely recommend this house to others, and we thoroughly enjoyed being so close to the Port Royale Marina and Pelican Pete's restaurant. We thought about going to the Keith's Bridge Park, but decided we had everything we needed right where we were!"
