"Matthew's Manor was an ideal vacation rental for our Family Vacation!! Our family, ranging from 17 years of age to 79, enjoyed the lake activities (swimming, diving, boating) as well as the volley ball court and swimming pool. Jumping off the boathouse roof was a favorite! The house itself was magnificent and large enough to allow us to separate and do individual tasks such as read a book, view and send e-mails and enjoy the game room and gym. The family membeers in their 20's spent most of their time swimming in the lake and the pool and playing volleyball. The adventurous kayaked on the lake! We rented a party boat with a water slide for 4 hours and cruised the lake naturally using the water slide to slide into the water. What fun! Maurice was a wonderful resource during our stay. The house is also convenient to stores, movies, churches, etc. Everything about the property exceeded our expectations! Just one suggestion: some sort of railing going down to the boathouse and lake would be very helpful. We thank the Matthews for sharing their beautiful house with us. The care that they give to their property is very evident. We highly recommend this property for anyone who desires an enjoyable stay in Georgia!"

  • Wonderful

"Our family of 9 had a fantastic vacation at the Cozy Cabin. It was so peaceful. The children ages 2-10 enjoyed everyday, swimming in the lake, making mudpies and hiking in the forest! The cabin itself was very nice and the owners went over and above to accomidate our family. I would love to stay there again."

  • Beautiful House Lots of Room Great Location

"This house is absolutely beautiful, open and airy, and very clean. It had enough room for an army and plenty of parking space in the driveway. Great for families with kids - ping pong and other games, plus a multi-media room, in the basement level. Easy drive to Gainesville or Don Carter State Park. Kroger supermarket 5 minutes away. Our only complaint was that there were no end tables or coffee table to put our snacks and beverages on when we were relaxing in the living room. And given that there were 8 picky adults, if we could only come up with that one fault, it's saying something! The owners were nice and easy to work with. I would highly recommend this house!!"

  • It was everything and more!

"Several of our adult family members had "decade" birthdays during 2016. With our having just moved to Atlanta in the last two years, many of our siblings hadn't been in this part of the country, so this was a great reason to get together and we decided upon Lake Lanier. The home was very clean and well maintained and it has all the dishes and glassware we could ever need. The main level kitchen was very large and well appointed! The second, more than fully equipped kitchen on the lower level made using the backyard gas grill handy one for one of our evening meals and the patio seating was plentiful. The view from the home's back porch and deck was wonderful, and since it faces east, the sunrises were pretty, too! The driveway goes down to the house from the road, and part of the drive also goes down to the lower level so we were able to drive our 87 year old 'mom' down to the patio to be with us when we gathered outdoors down there. The 5 bedrooms, all but one having a bath attached, really helped make the stay comfortable for nearly everyone, including the "outlaws." [The four of us that stayed in the 5th bedroom (the only bedroom without its own bathroom) had to go across the length of the house and down the stairs (or go through someone's bedroom) to reach a bathtub or shower. Fortunately, this was the only slightly awkward arrangement for our all-adults stay.] There were 13 adults in our group, and all but one had an actual bed (only 1 in our group needed to sleep on a sofa-bed). This is a big house with lots and lots of roomy rooms that allowed us all some private "me time" as well as plenty of spaces to gather all together or to gather in a few smaller groups throughout the weekend. We would definitely recommend this house to others, and we thoroughly enjoyed being so close to the Port Royale Marina and Pelican Pete's restaurant. We thought about going to the Keith's Bridge Park, but decided we had everything we needed right where we were!"
