  • Amazing Cabin in the Mountains

"We rented this cabin for my daughter's wedding party to stay in during the first week in November. The wedding took place at a vineyard only a mile or so from the cabin so it was perfectly located. All the bridesmaids and several family members stayed in the cabin and other wedding guests visited during the weekend. This cabin is huge! It is well cared for, clean and has all the amenities you could want for a vacation for many people including HVAC, laundry washer/dryer, outdoor grill and complete TV/Entertainment systems. It has a fully equipped kitchen with two refrigerators and a second kitchenette on the bottom floor where there are also a couple of nice bedrooms and a recreation room. The views of the surrounding mountains from the huge decks and the picture windows are absolutely stunning and the night sky is pretty dark so you can stargaze on clear nights. This beautiful cabin has plenty of room for a lot of people and there is plenty of parking for everyone. The location is near Dahlonega, Ga and there are lots of things to do in the area including visiting many wineries, unique restaurants, tubing down the river and other mountain activities. The only downside to renting this cabin is that you will never want to leave!"

  • Wonderful mountain stay with excellent location to downtown without being in downtown!

"We went for our daughter's birthday to the Big Bear Lodge and took our whole family. It was a very memorable and run weekend! The mountain cabin experience is definitely worth it and you are within walking distance of downtown but still far enough away to be out of the crowds. Even through the water is low right now, tubing was still very fun for the kids and we ate at Paul's on the River afterwards. Shopping is great in downtown Helen with lots of sweets! The Lodge has a little park by the water that is a great hang out to relax. The owners are fabulous, hard-working people who go out of their way to accommodate your stay and make it a great trip!"

  • Gorgeous place

"I love the place but the house has a lot of cobwebs and the carpet needs good steam cleaning. Need good clean kitchen stuff. Fortunately we're always out or out in the porch. Otherwise it was ok stay."

  • Wonderful Cabin Nestled in the woods with Hot Tub!

"1 year anniversary trip really enjoyed this home. Loved being nestled in the woods with the mountain view from the hot tub. I will say the home is larger than expected in person. The dark pictures do not do the home justice. Inside is all beautiful wood, with sky light windows in the living room ceiling. This home actually has 2 floors, the bottom floor having a full bathroom, nice size laundry room with a folding table, hallway, a full den/game room and a very small bedroom with doors that go to a covered area outside with a table. There is also a space heater in every area of the downstairs which is naturally cooler. There was plenty of room for the 2 of us. We did not use the fire place or dvd player, but great features at this house. All the appliances worked great, we did not see any bugs as another reviewer stated. Saw a small buck, 4 doe in the backyard, and locally we saw plenty of wild turkey all week, 2 large bucks, a ground hog, and 2 black bear right across the street from Farmette drive (the road snowdrift place is directly across from) The location is great here! You are elevated up on a mountain. Very close to Helen and sightseeing. Nearby are plenty of stores including grocery, drugstore & shopping. Hot tub worked great including bubbles, and lights during our stay which ranged from 32-65 degrees. Just make sure to turn the temp way up to start the heating, you should have no problem using the hot tub the same night. The corner view of the tip of the mountain is the only mountain view from the backyard, but we enjoyed the tree views just as much as the peak of the mountain. Our recommendations for nearby attractions that are a MUST: Brasstown Bald, Bell Mountain, Huddle House in Cleveland (best service in our lifetime) Paul’s Steakhouse for dinner, Hofer’s bakery and restaurant in downtown Helen, and our most favorite attraction the ½ day gem mining next to the creek at “Gold n Gem Mining” in Cleveland. I’m having an emerald ring made from one of our findings! Lot’s of other waterfalls and trails in the area, don’t have room to name them all. Don’t forget Babyland in Cleveland to get your cabbage patch & to see a beautiful mountain view the building overlooks. We loved being surrounded by woods inside and out. Thank you for sharing your home with us."
