  • Nice Large Gathering

"A very nice and large home to accommodate our group. This was a perfect setting to host a group retreat. While there were some small problems (ice maker not working, hornet nest in river, wasp nest on porch), the scenery and availability to meet our needs were outstanding. The house keeper met us on site and helped us find everything. Plenty of room for 18 of us and the owner was outstanding to work with. The river was a little low to float but we still enjoyed the water and huge lawn. I would recommend this location to groups wanting to get away and do team building."

  • Amazing!

"This was my first vacation in 5 years and this place was amazing. The location was great the directions were great and the house is fantastic. I sent the owner a few emails and receive prompt reply's. One of my children wants to go back as he already misses the property. We will be saying here again during our next family reunion. This was my first time renting a cabin and the bar has been set very high. I encourage anyone looking into cabins to look no further."

  • 2 sisters and family

"We had a group of 8 that stayed at Baer's and we really enjoyed everything. There were few to no folks in the little cove while we were there which added to the privacy that we were looking for in our stay. We were unable to have a boat but we had a blast just floating around and relaxing in the ideal temp for the water. The only thing that we would have liked would to have had a few of the trees trimmed up so that the view of the lake would have been better. And something that no one had control over were the misquitos. They were horrible late in the afternoon and that prohibited our usage of the upper deck on the dock. Would recommed for a family get away."

  • Exceeded all expectations!

"Our family decided to spend Thanksgiving in the north GA mountains and I am so glad we did! We had folks traveling from out of state, flying in and out of ATL, and others driving from within the state. The Blue Horizon Lodge was very accessible for all. Before we settled on this particular property, I messaged Neysa Lee, who is one of the owners, to ask about some particulars. Right from the start, she was quick to respond, very friendly and helpful. I quickly became comfortable with the choice to rent her property. The deposits, rental agreement and instructions were very clear and Neysa is very organized. The property itself is nothing short of spectacular. The views from the prowfront windows and the decks were absolutely beautiful and the architecture highlights the scenery beautifully. There is a lovely sitting area outside of the front door with a little brook and a very comfortable fire pit area not far from there in the side yard. A bocce court was under construction. The great room on the main level is very comfortable and spills efficiently into the kitchen and dining areas and out on to the huge wrap around deck. The views are spectacular and the furnishings cozy and comfortable. There are three exceptionally well appointed master suites with luxury amenities and beautiful views. The owners clearly have a gift for hospitality, as we were surprised by many personal touches throughout the property. The lower floor had a great area for our high school and college aged members of the group, who enjoyed the accomodations, including their own private area for playing video games in the media chairs. Of course for Thanksgiving dinner, I saved the best for last: my sister-in-law is a very accomplished cook, so the kitchen is very important to her. The lodge kitchen is very well planned, has plenty of space for "helpers" to work and sported double ovens, a warming drawer, a gas cooktop, and much more. The ultimate compliment came from the cook - she wanted to bring the kitchen home with her! As for the rest of us, we all enjoyed the beautiful dining table with its panoramic windows and views: a gorgeous place to enjoy a great meal and reflect on much for which to be thankful. I cannot say enough about the location, accomodations, views, and hospitality associated with the Lodge. If schedules would permit, all involved would love to make this an annual trip. We are already scheming about when we can return!"
