  • Just what we needed!

"We reserved this cabin for a weekend getaway from stress....and it lived up to exactly that. We got off the main highway for several miles...turned onto a side street that led to a gate that a real attendant. Then we drove at least two miles+ back into the woods on pavement then gravel roads. The seclusion factor is great. The minute we opened our car door we could hear the river rushing by not far from the driveway! Unfortunately...it was pitch dark when we arrived and we would have to wait and see our surroundings till morning. (Recommend arriving during daylight hours on your first drive into the cabin just because it makes the drive a little easier). But we still had no problem, the directions provided are spot on. We entered a gorgeous cabin, beautifully furnished and clean. The kitchen has everything you need to eat-in with modern appliances. Antiques everywhere. We loved the atmosphere. We woke the first morning to birds chirping and could hear the river. The river is only about 30 yards from the cabin and you can view everything from your balcony thru the trees. No pictures can do justice to seeing this view in person. Lots to do in Jasper and Ellijay. But resting at the cabin was best. You will love your stay here. The owner is very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed to know for our stay. If I had to say anything negative...it would be that the rates were more than advertised on line. We paid $193 a night for Friday and Saturday. That might be a website issue."

  • Birthday Celebration with Family

"We stayed at the Mountain Getaway over the weekend to celebrate my husband, brother-in-law, and nephew’s June birthdays. Dave made booking the cabin easy and was always quick to respond, even when I had a question about the cabin at 6:30 on a Friday night. The cabin was beautiful, clean, and well equipped. It had plenty of kitchen utensils and cookware, and the grilled was amazing, which was great since we did a lot of cooking and eating. There were numerous board games, movies, and outdoor games for the kids and the adults to play. However, who needs the inside of the cabin when you have such breath taking views and outdoor amenities. We spent the majority of our weekend sitting on the decks laughing, while taking in the miles of mountain views, relaxing in the hot tub or around the fire pit. We had an absolute blast and will definitely return to this beautiful property!!"

  • Beautiful and peaceful setting

"My husband and I were extremely pleased with the River Mist cabin. This was my first rental and wasn't sure what to expect, but by the time we left we were already talking about coming back again. My husband caught his first rainbow trout and he is still smiling! I am glad we read previous reviews about the gravel drive, as our four wheel drive truck came in handy getting out each day. Hope to rent again in the future."
