  • totally awesome

"We would highly recommend this place for anyone looking to get away from the hustle bustle and not wanting to be in the tourist / resort scene. The house is beautiful. It is also comfortable and well provisioned so we could pick up groceries from the farmers markets and pick from the trees but didn't have to purchase anything more like condiments, spices, or utensils. We had a 5-year old with us. He had a blast. The nearest public playground is in Honokaa. There are local kids nearby but it was a school week and we didn't meet many of them. Misc tips: - We should have packed a nut cracker for the macadamias. - We called over to Hale Kukui (retreat across the st) to find out about yoga offerings. They gave us the name and number for a lady who does classes right down the street. - Waipio Cookhouse is super close by and surprisingly delicious. They changed their hours twice while we were there (which proves relevant when you are adjusting to timezones). They try to keep them updated on Yelp."

  • Cozy, Convenient, Clean and Comfortable

"Nice little spot walking distance from the wonderful town of Honokaa. An excellent and well priced lodging that is only a few minutes drive from Waipio valley, which is a must see for everyone. Also in a great location to venture out and see the whole northern half of the island. All utilities and features were reliable. Clean and comfortable as advertised, would highly recommend."

  • Paradise Found!

"If you are reading this and don't stay here, you lose. The cottage is beautiful with a terrace deck overlooking the coastline. A fruit tree orchard is in the back yard. Walk across the driveway and you will hear the stream about 50 ft. below you. Walk down the path and there is a stone stairway and path that leads to the stream and a little waterfall. There are 3 natural pools to enjoy. On a clear day you can see Maui. The owners are very nice, Paula does her best to make sure you feel right at home. We just can't say enough about what a fantastic place this is."

  • Lovely farmstay

"We stayed here with our 2 young daughters and really enjoyed our stay. The girls loved going out to feed the pig in the morning and we loved all the open space for them to run around. The space was clean and kitchen well equipped for the meals we made. The location is perfect for exploring the Hamakua coast and Hilo. It gets cool being up in the mountains but the heater was perfect to take away the morning chill."
