  • Coastal views from Immaculate Guest Home outside Honokaa

"This rural setting was a wonderful retreat from tourist-oriented locations. We stayed five nights, and loved the close proximity to many places mentioned in the reviews below, as well as the proximity to Waimea. In addition, we drove the entire island from here, always glad to return and rest in this quiet place, listen to birds sing and frogs chorus, watch stars from the deck and master bedroom, and wake to the ocean view. Idyllic. Immaculate. Guests' needs thoughtfully anticipated in every respect -- inviting us to be peacefully "at home." Highly recommended. I have already scheduled a return visit."

  • Quiet, private and cozy

"We very much enjoyed our stay in the Mele Manu cottage. It was a great home base for our daily activities in the Honokaa area - cool and refreshing at the end of the day. The grounds are beautiful and our gracious host also invited us for a look at the pottery studio on the property. It's off-the-grid, which was a new experience for us but we adjusted easily. Very comfortably and tastefully furnished, the fresh-cut flowers add a lovely touch. There is a lot to do in the area; we liked that it is not a very 'touristy' atmosphere. Our host and the locals are very helpful and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and activities. We can highly recommend this property for a relaxing, private retreat."

  • Magnificent view from cute studio

"This was a great place to stay for a few days. The view from the studio is incredible. We loved walking through the orchard and seeing all the fruits on the trees. It was fun walking into "town" as well as walking to the Waipio Valley Lookout. How nice not to have to deal with a car and parking. The shower was one of the most amazing showers we've had in a long time; it reminded us of the days before low-flow water restrictions. The bed was super comfortable. The kitchenette has the basics to make limited meals ie. spaghetti. There's no oven but you can buy pre-made food and just heat it up in the microwave. This was a very relaxing location and only about a half hour from Waimea where we attended the Cherry Blossom Festival. I would highly recommend this place."

  • Excellent! The location, ocean view and the home!

"The view and the location are as presented. It is 486 walking steps to the Waipio Lookout. You will be nestled in pure aloha and very comfortable. Marcie is very organized. Communication is easy and informative. Arrival and departure information is thorough and helpful. All aspects of the house are well cared for and clean with beautiful hot water for a super bath or shower. Breakfast on the lanai was a dream. And! We did see whales! Highly recommended!"
