  • Rainbow cottage

"Secluded and comfortable. The owners have considered everything one might need and provided for it. Windy roads did not prevent us from finding local groceries or restaurants or exploring this part of the island."

  • Great location!

"Great location in small town of Honokaa. Close proximity to Waipio Valley and it's fabulous vistas. Clean and comfortable studio. No microwave or stove, but has a great little toaster/oven and hot plate. Tree frogs are very active at night right outside windows, so if you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs and you will be just fine. We loved the sounds."

  • Awesome!

"Experience true Hawaii and stay in this adorable plantation house! Mai is an awesome hostess and made sure we were taken cared of and the hale is adorable! The bathroom is like the old plantation days where the bathrooms are adjoining, one has the toilet and the other has the sink but both have showers. It was centrally located in honokaa and a short drive to waipio valley and a 45ish minute drive to Hilo."

  • Breathtaking!

"My fiance (now wife) and I traveled with our parents to this vacation rental as part of our grand tour of the Big Island of Hawaii. Last time I visited the island I stopped at the lookout for all of 5 minutes, and I vowed I would return one day to further explore the beauty Waipio has to offer. After looking at all other vacation rentals around the area, this one best suited my needs (at least 4 beds, ocean view, and private) with ease. When we arrived at the rental everything was perfect, and the property description was spot on. The management is very good a communicating. The pictures speak for themselves; it truly is paradise. The home is located on a private road and it is the second last property before the road dead ends (the last house being a long term residents of the area whom are very friendly), so this property is VERY private. The home is well appointed with natural and neutral colors though out. The kitchen is higher end (when compared to most vacation rentals) with above average dishware and cutlery, which is a very nice touch when contrasted against the usual "cottage rated" kitchen accessories other owners use. The beds were comfortable and there is a neat outdoor shower on the patio off the master, which I used every day during my stay while I peered into the valley. Overall, we spent a lot of time on the balcony (which is only accessible by walking through the house). From there you can watch the whales breach in the water and the odd surfer catching a wave. We spent little to no time in the lower level (which is the studio walkout and a VERY large garage). It is worth noting that the lower level studio is not directly accessible from the main house, it has its own entrance with no internal stairways connecting the two. I plan to return one day, and I would recommend for anyone to stay here. If you have an appetite for secluded nature with the comforts that come from a lavish home such as this one I would highly encourage you to stay at this rental, regardless of your party size."
