  • Hawaiian Paradise

"We recently returned from the Big Island after having spent the month of November at Hale Alaula. We have been to the Hawaiian Islands many times (twice to the Big Island), and this accommodation, by far, is the best that we have experienced. It is the first time renting a house as opposed to a condo and there is absolutely no comparison. As a retired couple, we enjoyed the quiet, solitude and privacy of Hale Alaula. The view of the ocean from the 2 lanais is absolutely beautiful. So peaceful to sit out each morning for breakfast. It is the best equipped accommodation, from a kitchen that has everything, to beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards. It is only 10 minutes to Hapuna Beach (the best on the island). On arrival we did a lot of our grocery shopping at Costco, and there is also a large Foodland in Waimea only 20 minutes away. For anyone wanting to be away from the hustle, bustle and noise of a resort or condo, this is the answer. Miguel is extremely pleasant and helpful to deal with. If our travels ever bring us back to the Big Island, this accommodation would definitely be our first choice."

  • Delightful Condo

"Our family visits the beautiful Big Island of Hawaii every summer, but we have never stayed in Waikoloa before. Sylvia was so friendly and helpful in convincing me that this was the right place for our vacation this time - and she was right! I took my 16-year-old niece and her friend for a last-minute adventure before school starts. Sylvia and Denis were so accommodating with our short timeline for making reservations, and things couldn't have gone more smoothly. The condo was exactly as described in the photos. The girls loved the huge TV and the comfy sofas! This location was perfect - amazing sunsets and cool breezes. We were never too hot, and that's saying a lot for August! The best beaches are 15 minutes away, and that paid off when trying to get there early enough to beat the crowds. The pool area was beautiful and never anyone else there. Although we've stayed at several other homes on the Big Island, the all-around advantages that this location offers can't be beat. We hope to stay here again in the near future."

  • Like living at home in the tropics

"This was a repeat visit for my family. We enjoy the homey atmosphere that makes traveling with little ones easier. They had toys for the kids, and Internet and Cable for the adults. We enjoyed eating at Bamboo restaurant a few times but really liked cooking in that kitchen. It is in a quiet neighborhood, but town is just a couple blocks away and on Saturday there is a Farmer's Market across the road that sells everything from produce to jewelry and local art. That is a great place to eat breakfast and listen to the local musicians sing Hawaiian music. It was a restful place and awaking to sounds of the birds and the hen and her chicks was a nice change from home. I will definitely be staying here in the future."
