  • Beautiful Location

"This is a cute condo located right next to the Carlsmith park. There is a designated parking spot for the condo which is right next to the elevator--very convenient. The condo was very clean and had most everything you would need during your stay (although we did need coffee filters and couldn't find any so bought some.) Beach towels and beach chairs are provided which is a nice touch and we used them when we went to the beach park next door. You don't even need to drive as the park is literally next door! We never made it to the pool, but saw people swimming in it. The front bedroom faces out to the street, which seemed to be a bit noisy from the road, but we slept in the back bedroom and it was quiet. The laundry room is just down the walkway from the condo--very convenient. The only reason I gave this condo 4 stars instead of 5 is because it was so hot and difficult to cool the place down even with the ceiling fan and standup fans. Not having a/c is the norm for most places in Hilo, but it seemed difficult to cool down the condo. We got a good breeze, though, by opening the front door and the lanai sliding door. Even with the heat I would recommend this condo--great location, great price!"

  • Another wonderful memory

"This is my third stay at Bev's, and I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Hilo. It truly feels like I am living in Hilo when I stay at Bev's because it feels like home. It's a private location and Bev absolutely respects your privacy. Bev is very thoughtful and the amount of small things that she remembers and provides for visitors is amazing. The lanai is perfect for early morning coffee, and Bev keeps the lodge immaculate. The location is a short drive from downtown Hilo in a quiet residential neighborhood filled with beautiful, charming houses. I highly recommend this property."

  • A Friendly Home

"I spent one full month in Halekepani House and I enjoyed it immensely. It is vast and comfortable, designed by people who wanted to live in it. You can tell from many details. Bedrooms have their own patio, with the biggest one suitable for outdoor dining and accessible also from the kitchen. The garden goes all around the property. The furniture meets so well with the spirit of the house, which then hosts all the tools, books, ornaments as collected in a lifetime, so you feel you are living in some close friend's house who is temporarily abroad. And very friendly are indeed the owners, Julie and Samuel, who live in another house just across the street. The street and the whole area is very peaceful, no through traffic, no disturbing noise, just bird calls … I wish I could return anytime soon in Halekepani."

  • Love this house!

"This is a great historical home located right on Hilo bay. The king size bed in the master was comfortable and our kids each had their own rooms. The views inside and out are incredible as is the property itself. Our kids spent hours finding frogs in the backyard. Keala was amazing and helped us get settled despite our very late flight. We will absolutely stay here again!"
