  • So happy we picked your place to stay in Hilo.

"My husband and I were so excited to finally achieve our lifelong dream and go to HI. Our first stop on Jan. 16 was at Hale Hibiscus in Hilo, HI. It was the most perfect place to begin our vacation dream of a lifetime. The setting was tropical and lush and welcoming. When we stepped in the room we were as happy as newlyweds though we have been married for 47 years. The unit was private, quiet, very attractive, clean and extremely comfortable. I could tell that the owners were very particular about the decorating of the rooms as well as their splendid service. Could have stayed there forever but, needed to move on to the next island. Thank you Diane & Phil. Wonderful memories are made from staying in places like yours and the outstanding service we received from you. Sincerely, B & G Poulos"

  • Hidden Diamond Paradise

"Ola Kai Cottage is a wonderful place to stay. Ola Kai cottage is nestled in a million dollar driveway high atop a hillside. The entire drive up the hill is carpeted with tightly mowed evergreen grass. Huge canopy of dense trees lines both side borders creating a tunnel vision from the cottage to the grand spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean. The air is so rich and so refreshing it’ll subtly take years off of you. You want library quietness than this is it except for the occasional chirping of birds during the day and the Coqui at night who didn’t get the “do not disturb note” but will hum you to sleep. The cottage is absolutely immaculate. It’s feel like we were the first occupant of a newly constructed home. We were even given the keys to their recreation center with adjoining warm Jacuzzi which we generously obliged every starry evening. On the estate were bananas, avocados, star-apples, oranges and surprisingly cacao groves. It was delightfully fun for us city folks to pick some of the tropical Hawaiian fruits on the Ola Kai estate and enjoy coffee on the gazebo. The only anxiety we experience was our first time driving to locate the Ola Kai Cottage at night. We had to traverse 2/10 of gravel road through a jungle we thought, but then it opened to the beautiful estate and high on the hill was our cottage. What a grand invitation and we could not contain our excitement. Looking back, I would happily say it was an exciting adventure locating the Ola Kai Cottage. Yes, we found Paradise. Sincerely, Our family from Gilbert, AZ"

  • Jungle Paradise

"This is a beautiful property and was a fun, unique experience for us to stay. The driveway alone is enough to make it memorable. Think Indiana Jones / Jurassic Park. The location is a wonderful combination of "off the beaten path" and still close to "civilization". The home was furnished with everything needed to enjoy our time. It was a little chilly in the early mornings, but blankets were available (and the sauna!). Wireless was adequate for checking emails & texting. Anything else can and should wait! And to top it off, I was thrilled to see the Bond 50 blu-ray collection (although we only watched about 20 minutes of one Bond movie). Too much else to do. We could not believe how lush and tropical the grounds are at Heaven's Door! The grounds are supreme (and private). Lots of birds, frogs and other animals. There is a beautiful stream running through the property that I enjoyed boulder hopping down. The pond fish were fun to watch, especially the predator fish. Once I found him, he kept an eye on me at all times! This is a beautiful, beautiful place. Location is excellent to explore the Hamakua Coast - so many wonderful drives and places to see. Communication with Linda was excellent and having stayed at another of her properties, we know that she has an eye for exceptional locations. Staying at Heaven's Door will be one of the enduring experiences of our Big Island vacation. Thank you (and we hope you get feeling better soon, Linda :)"
