  • Great location for exploring the east side

"Marie is a wonderful owner and could not be more generous or helpful. We were a group of three adults and even though it's a studio with one bathroom it worked fine for us! They have done a wonderful job landscaping and it really feels like paradise. I would absolutely recommend, especially if you are planning to do a lot of day trips. We basically made breakfast then took off for the day and then returned to make dinner and watch the sunset from the observation tower. Wonderful!"

  • Astonding View Of Hilo BAY

"My wife and I stayed in this house in Hilo for two week from mid February to the beginning of March 2016. The property sits on the protected side of Hilo bay about 100 yards from the cruise ship and freight ship pier. While we were there, a cruise ship passed within a few yards of property; close enough to wave to the passengers on the upper deck. The view from the back yard into the bay is relaxing and pleasant. This is also the view seen from inside the living areas of the home because of the homes' unique open design. Facing the bay is the living room with an alcove with a 8 foot wide bay window. On the opposite side of the house is an identical alcove with a large dinning table and a 8 foot wide bay window. Between these is an outdoor protected deck with table and chairs. Behind the living and dinning areas is the kitchen with the cook top on a counter so that the person cooking has a direct view of the bay. We selected to fix all our meals at the house. The kitchen is a little dated but is spacious with plenty of counter and storage space. The kitchen is well equipped with pots and pans and utensils. The only thing missing from the kitchen is a large cutting board and potato masher. There are three spacious bedrooms at the front of the house away from the bay. The house is in a central location; it is half a block to the main road which takes you into town in one direction, and to several close by county beach parks in the other direction. Our favorite park was “ Carlsmith beach park” with a large grass area to sun yourself and large pools of perfectly clear waist high water protected by a lava rock breakwater to take a swim. While we were there, three sea turtles were constant companions. A quarter of a mile toward town this road intersects into a perpendicular highways which takes you to the volcano and the main shopping area. People will tell you that it is always raining in Hilo- Don't believe it! During our 14 day stay, 12 were sunny to mostly sunny days."

  • Amazing Ocean Views!

"We enjoyed our stay at Gary's home. It was beautiful and very clean. The outdoor seating was nice and we had a full ocean view. Beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need. The grounds were lovely both front and back. I would stay again and recommend it to anyone who can climb stairs to the home. They are not too steep but there are about 18 of them. Everything was screened nicely and wonderful trade winds were felt. The unit downstairs had a tenant who we got to know and liked. The drive to Hilo was about 15-20 minutes. We also went to Uncle Roberts in Pahoa about a 40 minute drive south, but worth the drive at night. Its a huge farmers market with vendors who sell their homemade crafts and many food vendors. There is a hawaiian band and a bar. The band was great! The home is centrally located between Hilo and Pahoa."

  • We really enjoyed our stay in Pepeekeo, HI

"We enjoy cooking which is why we choose VRBO for lodging. The kitchen at the Oceanview-Home with Pool was the best equipped, VRBO kitchen we've ever experienced. the house itself was so comfortable and well stocked with paper supplies. The pool was an added bonus that we didn't expect to use, but we did many times when a trip to the ocean wasn't possible. The house was quiet, and certainly high enough to take advantage of outstanding views and breezes. We highly recommend this house as an Hawaiian destination."
