  • A Relaxing Tropical Getaway

"This condo unit has a nice view of the ocean from the bedroom, and we really enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of ocean waves. Our stay was lovely and relaxing. Please note that the pool/hot tub close at 9pm. A couple times we rushed home to enjoy a 15 minute soak before closing, but the staff shut things down 10-15 min before 9, which was a bit of a bummer, but we understand it's beyond the control of the condo owners. One thing that would improve our stay is the provision of tongs for grilling, which we managed to borrow one time from a neighbor who happened to be grilling. Other times we weren't as lucky and cooked food indoors because of not having the right tools."

  • Beautiful stay Jan 2017

"The property was fantastic and everything we could have hoped for. The kitchen was well stocked, there were plenty of towels, there were plenty of places to sit and relax, and the pool was a great place to hang out between outings. We had two vehicles and kept one outside the front gate off the street. That ended up being a better parking place than inside the gate. There is no remote for the gate so someone always has to leap out of the car to close/open it when leaving and arriving. Other than that we have nothing but good things to say. The room downstairs with the twin beds and a curtain for a door isn't an ideal bedroom but it was perfect for my 9 year old nephew who loved his "people-cave" for reading and getting away. The beds were fantastic and everyone slept well. The air-conditioners were not needed as the house cooled down nicely with the windows and doors open. We walked down to Kahaluu Beach park for a fantastic morning of snorkeling. Very close by (5 min drive) is a KTA grocery store in the Keauhou Shopping center which came in very handy. Downtown Kailua-Kona was about 10-15 min drive depending on traffic (and mind you the traffic can be really bad). All in all a beautiful place in a great location. My only thing to be aware of is that when you rent through Home Away or VRBO you get an automatic email giving you a code to sign in to a site that will give you all the information you need to get into the rental etc. However this is not apparently utilized by the manager of the property so there is really no place to use the code that is emailed. I was contacted by phone by the manager a few days prior to arrival and he emailed me all that info but it would have been nice to know that the code given by Home Away wasn't anything that would help."

  • Quiet condo 10 miles from beach

"Tenants describe it as San Diego condo in Hawaii. 2br 2ba galley kitchen up the slope from beaches. Clean, comfortable with compact washer dryer. Need rental car to stay here. Local pool, much cooler at night due to elevation. Don't need AC. Stayed here during conference. Enjoyed my stay."
