  • Everything We Were Promised!

"We had an amazing stay at this wonderful cottage! There is nothing we did not like about the house, the property, or the maintenance. My wife and I honeymooned here for our second week and loved the access to both sides of the island it gave us as well as the seclusion and comforts of a home away from home! 10/10 would stay again."

  • Absolutely Amazing!

"I'm not the type to normally leave detailed reviews, but this house was so absolutely amazing and wonderful that I felt compelled to. First, as far as the transaction, I can't imagine a transaction going any smoother. The hosts kept in close touch several days before the stay just to make sure everything was in line. They contacted us again the day before arrival with explicit instructions and all the details covered. Then again throughout the stay, they did everything they could to make us feel welcome, yet still gave us our space. There wasn't a single detail they didn't cover. In regards to the house itself, as many others have indicated the pictures don't do this rental house justice. The owners of the house did much of the construction themselves, and as a result there are so many special "extras" that you just couldn't put a price tag on. For example, the living room coffee table was made out of a single huge slab of wood that was honed and polished by the owners. The craftsmanship in every aspect of the way this house was constructed is absolutely first rate, and spurs me to treat the house and furnishings with even more care than I normally would. We also were fortunate enough to have met the owners during our stay, and I must say they couldn't have been more kind, gracious, and friendly. It felt like we made instant friends. I could say much more, but I can assure you if you rent this house you won't be disappointed. P.S. Just be prepared for the inevitable depression that will sink in on the morning you must depart this house. ;-)"

  • Beyond Excellent Home!!

"My family of five (including myself) took a trip to the Big Island for a total of five days, we figured we needed enough room for us to live comfortably. Upon searching the internet for days to find the right house, we came across this one and boy do we not regret it! When we got to Hawaii and the house we were taken away of how clean and well equipped it was. Not to mention the geckos roaming around the house (hardly any mosquitos since that was their dinner) and the views from the porch were incredible. It was so convenient how there was a pebble beach right down the street; so easy to walk and snorkel. Let's not forget the house also had many things such as boogie boards, a canopy (to take to the beach), beach chairs, sunscreen, beach towels, snorkel equipment, water shoes, ice chest, and so much more to offer! The AC worked incredibly well in all of the rooms and was definitely needed because of the humidity. Overall, it was a great place to stay and I recommend it to anyone. If I have the chance to visit the Big Island again I won't forget to book this place!"

  • Comfy and just like home

"We (family of 4 with two grown children) spent 9 days on the Big island, using Tina's home as our base. The home was perfect for us! Plenty of room for 4 adults, including 3 bedrooms with flat screen TV's and plenty of closet space, 2 full baths (with hair dryers), 1/2 bath, washer and dryer, fully equipped kitchen (regular drip coffee maker NOT Kuerig - good to know when shopping for groceries), comfy living area with big couch that easily seated all 4 of us, and a wrap around lanai that affords a gorgeous view of the hills and ocean. Cool breezes kept us very comfortable at night. Avocado and orange trees on the property were a nice addition. There are two gates to go through to get into the property - the first requiring a code which opens electronically, and another that requires someone to get out of the car and lift a very heavy gate - was glad to have our adult son along for this, but it seems that this gate was "fixed" at the end of our stay with a wheel at the base that made the gate MUCH easier to open! The snorkeling and beach gear provided (including aqua shoes, chairs, beach towels and mats) were great to have and worked very well for our needs! A good thing to know is that this home is located south of Captain Cook, and makes for an approximate 30-40 minute drive on a winding road to reach Kona. IF you like to go back and forth to Kona for activities, dining, etc. it makes for a pretty long drive. We were fine with this as when we headed out for the day, we planned accordingly with a change of clothes etc. The good news is that this places you closer to Volcanoes National Park and the Hilo area than accommodations which are closer to the town of Kona. In all, I would highly recommend this home next time you are on the Big island!"
