  • Shangri-La within Paradise!

"Looking forward to returning to this lovely, peaceful place. I've stayed in many VRBO properties and Ke'Ena Luana is the most immaculate place ever! The kitchen is one of the best equipped that I've experienced in a vacation rental property. The owner, Kirsi, was very responsive and most helpful. Her attention to detail was well appreciated, especially the little notes throughout the property so I didn't have to hunt down a reference book when I had a question. I loved that! If you're looking for a quiet place on the Big Island to get away from it all, this is it. I only hope it's available the next time I visit. Thank you Kirsi!!"

  • At home in Hawaii

"We spent a few days in the 2 bedroom apartment at Carol’s House on Kealakekua Bay and loved it. Being in a tranquil neighborhood at the waters edge, staying here felt more like real Hawaii versus tourist Hawaii . The apartment itself was more than comfortable for two or more, with tropical furniture, a well-provisioned modern kitchen, and stylish bathroom. A large covered lanai provided another breezy living area. The tropical backyard with an outdoor shower, tiki torches, lava rock BBQ, and patio table was nice to relax in and watch orange-spotted day geckos in the lush foliage. The location is great, with Kealakekua Bay steps away, and just down the road on 160, Honaunau Bay /Two Step (City of Refuge) offering world class shore diving and snorkeling. There is a grocery store nearby on highway 11 as well as cafe's and shops. We only wish we could have stayed longer."

  • Hawaiian Paradise

"I don't even know where to begin. The house is exceptionally well appointed. It was perfect for a personal piece of Hawaiian coastal heaven for my husband and I, but it would be fabulous for families or couples to share. The layout provides ample views, yet private space for all. The views are spectacular. We spent hours on the lanai watching the ocean. We saw whales, spinner dolphins and flying fish. A whale even breached about 500 yards off shore right in front of us. It was one of the most amazing sights I have ever witnessed. The lava flows, sea cliffs and sea caves are a wonder to explore and just steps away. On calm days explore the sea caves. If the swells get big, just sit back and watch the show! And the sea can't put on a spectacles show indeed! If it is calm you can drop in to the ocean for kayaking, paddling boarding. The sunsets are amazing. The stars at night glorious. The moon will light up the ocean as the sound of the waves lull you to sleep. If you pick up ample supplies and groceries in Hilo on your way in, you will never have to leave and probably will never want to! Yet, there is so much to explore on the island. Snorkeling abounds - AMAZING! Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park is a must. We were fortunate enough to be here when the lava tube was flowing into the ocean. Go to the visitor's center after dark and see the glow of the caldera. On the way stop by Punalu'u Bake Shop, the southernmost bakery in the US, and try their fresh Hawaiian sweet bread and lilikoi malasada. And don't miss the turtles at the Black Sand Beach. It's all short excursion from your home away from home in paradise. We have rented twice now from the Jensen's. We loved both of their Miloli'i properties. If you want paradise away from it all, but with all the appointments of a high-end resort, you can't lose with any of the Jensen's Miloli'i properties! Thanks Elaine and Ole. See you next year!!"
