"The day before we were to arrive the news reported a hurricane was to hit the island. I got a concerned call from the owner . He gave me all the emergency contacts and web sites to watch. Luckily the storm didn't hit as hard as expected. The home was very comfortable with beautiful views plenty of space for myself husband and parents. Saw wild pigs lizards and golfers. Kitchen had everything for an extensive stay. Days were field with late rising drinking coffee on the lenis and early afternoon adventurers. Perfect location to really see the island. I would really suggest this for people who want to relax.Just want thank the owners for sharing there space."

  • What a beautiful, peaceful place to stay

"Our stay in this beautiful house in Naale'hu was perfect, the owners’ responses quick. The property manager, Shirley, is very helpful and lives nearby. We did enjoy the fantastic garden with lots of fruits we could use, the beautiful view and the calm. The house is perfect and offers everything one could wish for. It is a great place to explore the southern part of Big Island and the Volcanoes National Park. Black Sands Beach - a good place to swim, sunbathe and a fantastic place to see sea turtles - is nearby. We heartily recommend a stay here. Esther + Brigitte, Switzerland"

  • Small cabin in the middle of a sleepy town

"The place is farther from the Volcanoes National Park than I would have thought which was our primary reason for booking in the southern side of the island. The town has very little to offer if you are a morning person. Nothing opens until 8 or 9! The actual cabin was a perfect place to sleep but lacks a microwave. The beds were pretty comfortable and it was nice to have cable. Overall it worked for what we needed. It is right in between the green sand beach and the black sand beach which made for a great way to spend a morning."

  • A perfect place to stay

"My 19 year old son and I had a wonderful stay in this spacious home. The neighbors who take care of the property were kind and gracious. We came to explore, snorkel, and fish. Even though they did not fish themselves, they loaned us some books about fishing in Hawaii. And gave us various locations where they have seen people fishing. The location is prime for accessing Volcano National Park, Black Sand Beach. Huntington Park, South Point(the southernmost tip of the United States, I was told), and the Green Sand Beach(take the 3 mile shuttle, it is worth it). On Wednesday, we enjoyed the Farmers Market in Naalehu."
