  • Sandy was a wonderful host!

"Sandy was very accommodating. We arrived very late and she was there to greet us and get us settled into the Pineapple Room. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, the view was lovely. She had fresh fruit, homemade gluten free pastries, homemade soap ready and waiting for us. Delicious (not the soap of course!). We were able to do a load of laundry at the main house before we left. Sandy provided us with a binder of places to visit and eat. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel room, this is not the place. If you are looking to stay at a comfortable, small cabin and get the Hawaiian vibe, this is the place! My only issue was with the hot water and trying to keep it a consistent temperature in the shower. I never quite got the hang of it. Thank you Sandy and to your son and daughter in law for all of your help and a great stay!"

  • Unique, Quiet, Secluded, Scenic, Comfortable Vacation Rental

"This is not your typical Hawaiian setting. But, if you are up for a unique and interesting place to stay, this is for you. After a 2-hour drive from Kona, we arrived in Ocean View and stopped at the Malama Mkt. for food and other supplies. We were pleasantly surprised that this market had everything we needed for our 5-night stay. We drove about 4 miles down towards the ocean through the rocky lava landscape and found our rental. This one-bedroom unit is on the ground level below the main house. Besides the bedroom, there is a small kitchen, bathroom and comfortable living area. It was nice to have a pool to ourselves. The people of Ocean View are friendly, and everyone we encountered warmly welcomed us to the area. Our activities included: a hike down to the ocean (hot, no shade, pack water), a bike ride out to the lave flow, a fun time at Uncle Roberts, an interesting visit to a local coffee farm, and a delightful experience at the free community Christmas celebration in the park. If you are looking for a different Hawaii experience, we suggest you give this a try."

  • Beautiful spot. Turtles and volcanoes right there.

"Great spot. Right between both main cities. The volcanoe national park is a great drive. After along day out it was great to relaxin the spa and pool. The bed was one of the comfiest I've had. Highlight was the drive given by the Locals to Green Sand beach. $15 well spent. So much fun just getting there and then the hour spent there. Amazing."

"This house overlooks South Point on the Big Island! Very comfortable, clean and quality furnishings. Gated subdivision makes you feel safe. We loved it!"
