  • Peaceful, Secluded, and Inspirational Wonderland

"Connie's cabin is absolutely sublime! My husband and I stayed for a week's vacation and every part of the experience was perfection. Upon booking, Connie reached out immediately to confirm and send detailed directions from Kona. At check in, she was so warm and welcoming, giving a full tour of the cabin's facilities and offering help by just a phone call away if we needed it. We never needed to call because she was so thoroughly informative at the first meeting. She respected our privacy for the rest of our stay and we got to imagine that this little paradise was all ours for the week. The cabin's location in Naalehu is secluded and very private, accessed by a drive through a gorgeous tropical jungle-like garden on the property. As a launching point, it's ideally located for day trips in each direction, whether it be Captain Cook to the northwest, Southpoint and Green Sands Beach to the south, and Volcano National Park, Hilo, and Puna to the east. It's well worth mentioning that the very popular Punalu'u bakery is only 15 minutes away, so it's likely that every morning will begin with a malasada or two :) The piece-de-resistance is, of course, the cabin itself. It really is the perfect get-away and every feature of the space is a representation of the care and mindfulness of its owner. The cabin is entirely off the grid: electricity is solar, water is from a rain catchment, and the stove is propane. Each installation is an example of how excellent and plentiful these resources are. I was amazed at the solar reserves' responsiveness to the sun. Hot water is on-demand and never runs out; I had a wonderfully hot shower every morning. We cooked every dinner on the propane stove and made incredible coffee on the french press. There is no wifi, but cellular services reach there and I was able to occasionally check the internet. There's a TV and DVD player with a wide and really quality selection of movies - we watched "Broken Flowers", "What the Bleep Do We Know", "The Prestige", and "Bruce Almighty"...there's something for everyone. The bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of fresh linens. We spent every night talking on the patio deck which is surrounded by a nice sized grass area (perfect for morning yoga) and a lovely tropical landscape humming with crickets and local birds. I could go on and on but instead I'll say that, above all, I found Connie's cabin inspirational with the spirit of mindfulness and creativity evident in every nook."

  • Great accommodations and hostess in Oceanview!

"Very enjoyable accommodations. Nice separate entry to a large room with comfortable king bed and private bath. There are even available kitchen facilities right outside the room. Sandy is a wonderful hostess, is very flexible and provides gourmet breakfasts! We enjoyed being on the southern end of the island for shorter travel times to places like South Point, Green Sand Beach, Black Sand Beach and the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park."

  • Perfect getaway

"My husband and I have had the pleasure of staying in this home twice now. We love the location. It is away from the hustle of Kona but close to many fun activities. We love going to south point (my husband even jumps) and green sand beach. We enjoyed going to Punaluu beach and seeing all the turtles sunning on the beach. It is close to volcano national park with lots to explore and see. It is so nice after playing hard all day coming home to a nice quiet house. And I am not sure I mentioned the beautiful views. You can sit on the lania and see the ocean. The owner is always very helpful and responsive. I would recomend this house to anyone. Mahalo, MIshelle Hagewood"

  • Wonderful property, Awesome owner and property manager.

"We were in Hawaii for my daughter's wedding, my sisters, my husband and I decided to extend our stay a few days and see a bit more of the island. There were 6 people in our party and this house was perfect for our group. I have rented on VRBO for at least 10 years and always had good experiences, but this was was by far the best! The owner was a joy to deal with, she was very accommodating when our plans changed slightly and was incredibly prompt with all communication. The property manager was super sweet and friendly and always available for anything we needed. The house is more amazing than the pictures. It is plenty big, the kitchen island had the 6 stools for all of us but we sat out on the beautiful lanai more often. The kitchen by far was more well equipped than any other home I have ever stayed at. My husband is a caterer and when we rent houses in the states and drive we always take extra pots and knifes and the like because we always know there will not be sufficient tools. Not in this home, there is more than enough of absolutely every appliance and tool and dish that any culinary genius would need to prepare gourmet meals. We used the grill several evenings and it worked great, outdoor lanai area was wonderful to hang out in, the pool was clean and refreshing. The bedrooms were all quite large enough, the beds were comfy and the bathrooms were spacious and clean and modern. I loved being a little bit away from the more populated areas for a while since we live in a metropolitan area, it is nice to get a break. The little town nearby was very quaint and everyone was so friendly. We loved all the local sites, green sands beach, south point shore, black sands beach, volcano national parks(all close by). There was this great little farm on south point drive that we enjoyed tasting their wares(signs along the road). All in all, we loved this house and the area. I wish this house were closer to me, maybe on the gulf coast, because I would rent it every summer for vacation. Who knows, maybe I will be able to return to Hawaii more often. Thank you Lori for letting us enjoy your home!"
