  • Quaint cottage

"Cute cottage! Very well maintained and clean. Our family of 4 stayed in unit 2. It was a little tight but we didn't mind. Patty was very friendly and nice. Easy check in and out. Definitely recommend it if you are in the area!"

  • Home away from home!!

"Our family had the privilege of staying at this beautiful vacation rental for a month and a half. I can't even begin to describe how fabulous this home is. It is situated in a peaceful residential community surrounded by a golf course, lovely green vegetation, palm trees, and flowers. Everything you need for your stay in Hawaii is available at this home to make your trip very comfortable. The kitchen is amazing. It is fully equipped with every appliance, baking pan, and cooking supply that you could ever need. The entire back wall of the kitchen living room is a huge window with 2 large sliding glass doors that open out to a lovely lanai overlooking the pool and golf course. It hs the feel of an outdoor living space. The lanai is a covered dining space and is fabulous, complete with a built in gas grill. This area is perfect for sitting having coffee, watching the sunrise and listening to the birds but then offers shade for later in the day. All of the bedrooms are nice sized and beautifully decorated. The beds are very comfortable and nice linens are provided. TVs throughout the home work great as does the internet. There are beach chairs, coolers, and umbrellas for use at the beach. Also, a very nice washer and dryer. I can't say enough of how much we loved this home. The owner and property managers were wonderful to work with and very accommodating with meeting any of our needs. We thoroughly enjoyed this area including exploring South Point, the Green Sand and Black Sand Beaches, Hookena Beach-snorkeling and swimming with the dolphins, the volcano, and the lovely little town of Na'alehu. There are 2 nice grocery stores in the town of Ocean View which is 15 minutes away. It is a bit of a drive to Kona or Hilo but if you are wanting a nice relaxing vacation out of the busy city and resort area this definitely is a place for you."

  • What a beautiful, peaceful place to stay

"Our stay in this beautiful house in Naale'hu was perfect, the owners’ responses quick. The property manager, Shirley, is very helpful and lives nearby. We did enjoy the fantastic garden with lots of fruits we could use, the beautiful view and the calm. The house is perfect and offers everything one could wish for. It is a great place to explore the southern part of Big Island and the Volcanoes National Park. Black Sands Beach - a good place to swim, sunbathe and a fantastic place to see sea turtles - is nearby. We heartily recommend a stay here. Esther + Brigitte, Switzerland"

  • Peaceful setting

"Our family group of 7 adults (3 couples and my elderly father) spent Christmas at Elizabeth and Barney's beautiful house. There were many things we loved about it... the calm and privacy, the perfect temperature and (usually) light breeze, the fabulous upper deck that was a perfect place to sip excellent coffee and watch the sun rise, the fruit and nut trees right outside the door, the fantastic spring water. The house was clean, and the bedrooms were comfortable. Our hosts were gracious and helpful but not intrusive in any way. They did their very best to accommodate our requests. Bugs were not an issue. There were some tiny ants in the kitchen, and we trapped and released a total of 3 cockroaches during our 9-night stay... a small price to pay for the security of knowing there was no poison around! A couple of things anyone staying here should be aware of: 1. The description says the house will sleep 12, but there is only bedroom space for 6. The other beds are custom bunks in the great room, which is really meant to be a common space: it is all windows and right at the front entrance, so there is little privacy and it offers no place to store personal belongings. It would be fine for children, but was not ideal for us. 2. If you really like to cook, this accommodation presents a challenge, especially if you have a large group. Saucepans, frying pans, salad and serving bowls suitable for our group of 7 were at a premium. I really really wanted some sort of a juicer or press to take advantage of all the fresh citrus that was just lying on the ground outside the house! 3. We appreciated the ecological advantages of the solar water heater, but the water was NEVER very hot, and water pressure in the showers was very low, especially in the downstairs bathroom. 4. The remote location is a mixed blessing... you have to drive for at least 30-45 minutes to access most of the things to see and do (which are fantastic... we snorkeled, rode horses, hiked, swam). This is not an issue if you just want a place to chill in the hammock and enjoy some peace and quiet, but we craved more adventurous pursuits. We spent a lot of time in the van!"
