  • Small cabin in the middle of a sleepy town

"The place is farther from the Volcanoes National Park than I would have thought which was our primary reason for booking in the southern side of the island. The town has very little to offer if you are a morning person. Nothing opens until 8 or 9! The actual cabin was a perfect place to sleep but lacks a microwave. The beds were pretty comfortable and it was nice to have cable. Overall it worked for what we needed. It is right in between the green sand beach and the black sand beach which made for a great way to spend a morning."

  • A perfect place to stay

"My 19 year old son and I had a wonderful stay in this spacious home. The neighbors who take care of the property were kind and gracious. We came to explore, snorkel, and fish. Even though they did not fish themselves, they loaned us some books about fishing in Hawaii. And gave us various locations where they have seen people fishing. The location is prime for accessing Volcano National Park, Black Sand Beach. Huntington Park, South Point(the southernmost tip of the United States, I was told), and the Green Sand Beach(take the 3 mile shuttle, it is worth it). On Wednesday, we enjoyed the Farmers Market in Naalehu."

  • Quiet and relaxing!

"The condo was as described! We were so pleased to arrive and find all as described. Our goal was peace and quiet and relaxation, we got it! The folks were kind and easy to work with, the black sand beach near-by is stunning in every sense. This off the beaten path location was a perfect base for our explorations of Volcanoes National Park, snorkeling and other beautiful hiking sites. Thanks!"

  • What a breathtaking and magical place!

"I was blessed with a stay here in January. It is a sanctuary for your heart, mind and soul!! The scenery is spectacular and the way the home is nestled in the lush acreage makes it feel like you're in a set for a fairy tale! And then there is Sandy, a gracious and generous woman, whom you know will be a lifelong friend. Did I mention she is happy to share the bounty of her fruit trees?!? I cannot wait to return one day!"
