  • peaceful mauka farm provides perfect place to greet the day

"Papalani Farm's Farmhouse is a perfect vacation retreat for those seeking a rural rental away from Kailua Kona. The farmhouse has a beautiful lanai where you can enjoy fresh mountain air and hear native Hawaiian honeycreepers singing in the Ohia trees on the edges of the property while sipping your morning tea. Nikki is a warm and responsive host, and farm fresh fruit and vegetables complete the package."

  • Million dollar view

"What a fabulous experience! The most stunning views from a very nicely appointed house. We cooked almost all meals in the spacious kitchen. Harry was great to call or text about things to do. He is one of the most helpful hosts I have encountered. The home has floor -to -ceiling windows and is quite spacious. THe outdoor patio has several levels, so be aware if you are strolling around in the dark. Fantastic place if you want to get away from the crowds. We plan on returning."

  • Perfect!

"Suzy and Russ were fabulous hosts! The RV was clean, comfy and had everything we needed! By the end of our one week visit they were like family. Great neighborhood and proximity to Volcano National park, south point, black sands beach and green sands beach. We will be back with our young boys! Mahalo!"

  • Unique, Quiet, Secluded, Scenic, Comfortable Vacation Rental

"This is not your typical Hawaiian setting. But, if you are up for a unique and interesting place to stay, this is for you. After a 2-hour drive from Kona, we arrived in Ocean View and stopped at the Malama Mkt. for food and other supplies. We were pleasantly surprised that this market had everything we needed for our 5-night stay. We drove about 4 miles down towards the ocean through the rocky lava landscape and found our rental. This one-bedroom unit is on the ground level below the main house. Besides the bedroom, there is a small kitchen, bathroom and comfortable living area. It was nice to have a pool to ourselves. The people of Ocean View are friendly, and everyone we encountered warmly welcomed us to the area. Our activities included: a hike down to the ocean (hot, no shade, pack water), a bike ride out to the lave flow, a fun time at Uncle Roberts, an interesting visit to a local coffee farm, and a delightful experience at the free community Christmas celebration in the park. If you are looking for a different Hawaii experience, we suggest you give this a try."
