  • Quiet and Remote Getaway

"My husband and I just got back from 10 nights at this resort. We had spent the previous week in Kona, and this was a nice change of pace. The condo was very clean, and also well stocked. We appreciated having the coffee grinder and blender. As others have already said in previous reviews, make sure you stock up on groceries before heading out there, as there isn't much shopping nearby. My husband really appreciated that there were some golf clubs in the closet, and went golfing twice. The pool area is really nice, and I enjoyed the lava rock hot tub. This is a great spot to stay if you plan on going to Volcano National Park, its about 20 minutes away. We also went to Hilo a couple of times, and highly recommend the scenic four mile drive just north of Hilo and taking in the botanical gardens. The black sand beach is a short walk, and you can see turtles almost daily. I would love to come back someday and stay again!"

  • Great quiet retreat

"This was our first VRBO and has set us on a path of believers. The condo was incredibly quiet and clean. It had everything needed for a few days near Volcano National Park. I would definately return. Thank you for a great visit."

  • Home away from home!!

"Our family had the privilege of staying at this beautiful vacation rental for a month and a half. I can't even begin to describe how fabulous this home is. It is situated in a peaceful residential community surrounded by a golf course, lovely green vegetation, palm trees, and flowers. Everything you need for your stay in Hawaii is available at this home to make your trip very comfortable. The kitchen is amazing. It is fully equipped with every appliance, baking pan, and cooking supply that you could ever need. The entire back wall of the kitchen living room is a huge window with 2 large sliding glass doors that open out to a lovely lanai overlooking the pool and golf course. It hs the feel of an outdoor living space. The lanai is a covered dining space and is fabulous, complete with a built in gas grill. This area is perfect for sitting having coffee, watching the sunrise and listening to the birds but then offers shade for later in the day. All of the bedrooms are nice sized and beautifully decorated. The beds are very comfortable and nice linens are provided. TVs throughout the home work great as does the internet. There are beach chairs, coolers, and umbrellas for use at the beach. Also, a very nice washer and dryer. I can't say enough of how much we loved this home. The owner and property managers were wonderful to work with and very accommodating with meeting any of our needs. We thoroughly enjoyed this area including exploring South Point, the Green Sand and Black Sand Beaches, Hookena Beach-snorkeling and swimming with the dolphins, the volcano, and the lovely little town of Na'alehu. There are 2 nice grocery stores in the town of Ocean View which is 15 minutes away. It is a bit of a drive to Kona or Hilo but if you are wanting a nice relaxing vacation out of the busy city and resort area this definitely is a place for you."

  • TOP-NOTCH VRBO LOCATION AND LODGING

"Nestled in a high valley 15 minutes from the big island’s southeast coast, this inviting cottage provides the setting for a memorable Hawai’i vacation. The owners are imaginative and thoughtful and have designed this cottage with care and attention to detail. Convenient to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, Panalu’u Beach Park (reportedly the best black sand beach around), South Point and Papakolea Green Sand Beach. A great base for exploring the immediate region and forays to the west side for snorkeling and hiking. The cottage has everything you’ll need and the only drawback is once settled in you might not want to leave. Walk out your front door to pick fruit for breakfast and explore the garden to find greens and goodies for salads. Two miles from great coffee at Ka’u Coffee Mill. We loved the bed and the natural light that floods the entire space throughout the day. Complete functional kitchen with yellow bamboo outside the window. Comfortable living room window seat for reading and watching the numerous birds that live on the property. An authentic, quiet, out of the way retreat. Highly recommended."
