  • Paradise Realized

"With most of our group having come from -20 degrees and a foot of snow on the ground, this was absolute paradise! The house is immaculate, spacious, comfortable, beautifully furnished, and quiet. The all inclusive kitchen made cooking easy and fun. Tropical views dazzled us everywhere, from sunrises over pool, breakfasts on lanai, beautiful landscaping, to amazing stars at night. What a sensory delight! Location is secluded yet perfect for activities/sites in Kona, Hilo, Volcanoes, and more. Having such a spacious house afforded our group plenty of room of room to sprawl, relax and recharge after all our island explorations. We loved the local BUZZ Honey, macadamia, coffee farm with birds, orchid farm, Naalehu and its charming bakery, dining (Hana Hou & Shaka's), church, and the warm friendly locals and neighbors. We did not want to leave and hope to return soon. It was a magical vacation. Mahalo for sharing!"

  • Peaceful, Secluded, and Inspirational Wonderland

"Connie's cabin is absolutely sublime! My husband and I stayed for a week's vacation and every part of the experience was perfection. Upon booking, Connie reached out immediately to confirm and send detailed directions from Kona. At check in, she was so warm and welcoming, giving a full tour of the cabin's facilities and offering help by just a phone call away if we needed it. We never needed to call because she was so thoroughly informative at the first meeting. She respected our privacy for the rest of our stay and we got to imagine that this little paradise was all ours for the week. The cabin's location in Naalehu is secluded and very private, accessed by a drive through a gorgeous tropical jungle-like garden on the property. As a launching point, it's ideally located for day trips in each direction, whether it be Captain Cook to the northwest, Southpoint and Green Sands Beach to the south, and Volcano National Park, Hilo, and Puna to the east. It's well worth mentioning that the very popular Punalu'u bakery is only 15 minutes away, so it's likely that every morning will begin with a malasada or two :) The piece-de-resistance is, of course, the cabin itself. It really is the perfect get-away and every feature of the space is a representation of the care and mindfulness of its owner. The cabin is entirely off the grid: electricity is solar, water is from a rain catchment, and the stove is propane. Each installation is an example of how excellent and plentiful these resources are. I was amazed at the solar reserves' responsiveness to the sun. Hot water is on-demand and never runs out; I had a wonderfully hot shower every morning. We cooked every dinner on the propane stove and made incredible coffee on the french press. There is no wifi, but cellular services reach there and I was able to occasionally check the internet. There's a TV and DVD player with a wide and really quality selection of movies - we watched "Broken Flowers", "What the Bleep Do We Know", "The Prestige", and "Bruce Almighty"...there's something for everyone. The bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of fresh linens. We spent every night talking on the patio deck which is surrounded by a nice sized grass area (perfect for morning yoga) and a lovely tropical landscape humming with crickets and local birds. I could go on and on but instead I'll say that, above all, I found Connie's cabin inspirational with the spirit of mindfulness and creativity evident in every nook."

  • Great stay!

"We loved staying here! Amanda was great, no issues at all besides needing batteries for smoke alarm which she took care of right away. We would stay here again."

  • Sandy was a wonderful host!

"Sandy was very accommodating. We arrived very late and she was there to greet us and get us settled into the Pineapple Room. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, the view was lovely. She had fresh fruit, homemade gluten free pastries, homemade soap ready and waiting for us. Delicious (not the soap of course!). We were able to do a load of laundry at the main house before we left. Sandy provided us with a binder of places to visit and eat. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel room, this is not the place. If you are looking to stay at a comfortable, small cabin and get the Hawaiian vibe, this is the place! My only issue was with the hot water and trying to keep it a consistent temperature in the shower. I never quite got the hang of it. Thank you Sandy and to your son and daughter in law for all of your help and a great stay!"
