  • Unbelievable trip

"My husband and I loved our time spent on the Big Island and having such a warm , inviting place to rest and dine . There are views from most every window where you can gaze at the colors of the ocean , Sky ,golf course and the blossoming trees on the lawn . There are tvs in every room though we didn't watch them much . The kitchen is well stocked and even has martini glasses. There is an outdoor grill and fridge with patio dining overlooking the ocean . The beds are very comfortable and closets spacious. We did lots of hiking and the owners had great dining suggestions in the area. We also appreciated the amenities of the pool and beach access nearby . We got to see manta rays swim at night along the edge of the Mauna Kea resort . Snorkeling along the beach reef was also great ."

  • Charming, well-appointed, great views

"We stayed four nights at the Lokahi Garden Sanctuary. A beautiful location on a working farm, this was a great launching off point to explore Hawi and the north side of the Big Island. While not walkable to the ocean, the views of the Pacific are fantastic, and you can see across to Maui on a clear day. The house is clean and well-appointed, with everything we could have needed. Our hosts were the right amount of welcoming (bringing us fruit from the farm) but otherwise hands off. Note that as a working farm, there a number of farmhands and others around during the day, but we found them unobtrusive and didn't even notice after a day or two. Highly recommend this spot to others, and would stay here again should we return to the Big Island."

  • Great stay and great owner

"I've rented numerous units at Kulalani over the past 5 years and I think this unit was the best so far. It's got a great layout, clean, and very well appointed. You can tell the owner takes great pride in their property. Julie was also great to work with. Very responsive and helpful. She communicated with me several times prior to my arrival and I didn't have to track her down for things like gate and key codes which I've had to do with several other owners and property managers. A+ for service, locale, and making our stay really enjoyable. If you've never been to Mauna Lani Resort I'd say that the Kulalani is the best development. Very nice units, great private pool, centrally located so you can easily walk to shops, restaurants, grocery store as well as the Fairmont Orchid."

  • Lovely Hawi

"My husband and I along with our 2 kids (ages 11 & 12) had a wonderful stay at Jim and Leah's place. They are great hosts and give you recommendations on where to go, beaches, etc... (just ask). Their ohana is all that you need. It comfortable, neat, clean and has WiFi. The outdoor shower is a bonus!!! Love this feature so much. The space was perfect for our family of four and had a great kitchen for cooking meals in. Hawi has some of the best sushi I have had at Sushi Rock and you must, must, must check out the food at Sol Kitchen at the Hawi Farmer's Market, so ono!!! This a good home base and is but is easily accessible to other areas such as Waimea and Kona. We cannot wait to return."
