  • Outstanding holiday rental

"This immaculately kept villa was the ideal vacation spot for our family. The kitchen was better equipped than my home kitchen and the home was pristinely clean. There were more than ample bath towels and extra large swimming towels for the pool. The pools and gym on the property were equally as well maintained. We were walking distance from the grocery store and a variety of shops. One week as way too short."

  • Wonderful house and location!

"I stayed at Eia Makou with my family (husband and 3 kids, ages 7, 10 and 12) for 5 nights, and wish we could have stayed longer. The house is beautiful, clean, spacious, and well-stocked with towels, beach gear, etc. (Looks even better live than in the online pictures.) Barbara, the manager, was very responsive to any questions we had. The views from the house are amazing, both of the ocean and the surrounding mountains. The pool was fantastic - we swam every day and watched the sun set a few times from the house. The location is perfect, close to the charming towns of Waimea and Hawi, as well as resorts/shopping/dining in Waikoloa. Within an hour's drive are gorgeous views and hiking at Pololu and Waipi'o Valleys. Hapuna beach, ranked one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, is about 10 minutes away, as well as Mauna Kea beach. We went to one of these every day. The ice cream and shaved ice shop down the hill in Kawaihae (plaza next to gas station) was excellent. I would highly recommend the ziplines at Umauma Experience (about 90 minute drive), as well as one of the evening manta ray snorkeling or scuba cruises (we booked last minute with Sunlight on Water in Kona, which was great, though it looks like many companies do this and some may start in Kohala). If we ever return to the Big Island we will try and stay here again!"

  • Don't tell anyone else

"This house is mere steps away from the best beach on the island, maybe in all of Hawaii. Our third time staying here, can't wait to get back. The BBQ is a huge bonus, we were able to cook up some tasty dinners and enjoy the sunsets from the front deck. I am hesitant to give Ehu Kai an excellent review because I don't want the secret to get out and make it more difficult for me to reserve again. ;-)"

  • Loved the location and the condo was great

"Perfect place for our family. Sarah the person who cares for the condominium complex was very friendly and very helpful information. The condo is right across the street from the beach in Puako with great tidal pools. The reef extends the whole length of Puako and there is public access at multiple locations along the road. The snorkeling was fantastic with lots of turtles, eagle rays and tons of fish. Public access between house 39 and 40 is best for turtles and the reef at the end of the road at the last public access was our favorite. The condo was perfect and well stocked. There is no air conditioning but with ceiling fans and screens it was never that hot. It was a very comfortable place and the balcony's were private and great for sitting out with a glass of wine after a long day. The pool was also very nice and most of the time we were the only ones there. My kids liked chasing the geckos and we picked and ate the mangoes every day as well as some bananas, papayas and some lemons. Overall a great place and perfect location."
