  • This Home was Wonderful!

"This home was wonderful! The pool and patio were a gathering place from breakfast to star-gazing. Everything we needed to feel at home was there. My granddaughter called it a mansion! We can't wait to return!"

"I cannot begin to tell you how my family and I enjoyed this town home. We were two couples, one of them with a small baby, and two singles. This house is certainly perfect for a family or friends to enjoy Mauna Kea and the surroundings. We all absolutely loved the house! The house was spacious, modern, nicely furnished and super clean! We had no hesitation for letting the baby crawl on the floors. The bathrooms were spacious, equipped with luxurious towels and shampoos/soaps etc. The amenities of the house were fantastic. The internet worked well, the sound system and tv service inside the house were of top quality. The kitchen was very well equipped and the outside barbecue very handy, as we ended up cooking most of our dinners at the house. The kitchen had a nice supply of spices and other basics and the laundry room was well stocked with laundry detergents, etc. There were supply of beach toys, balls, bogie boards, etc which we put all in use during our stay. A nice lanai outside with 6 person dining table and sitting area were in constant use! The private pool was an absolute bonus with a small hot tub, both of which we enjoyed daily. The location of the house is excellent. The location is within a few steps of the local club house with a nice small pool, hot tub and a very functional small gym. The gated community felt very safe and was very quiet throughout the day and night. Both the house and the overall property is beautifully landscaped and maintained very well. The golf carts were very useful, and we didn’t need to move our cars on days when we didn’t venture to do scuba, fishing, etc. The Hapuna and Mauna Kea beaches are both within a 10 min. walking distance or a couple minutes drive in a golf cart. Kai was super responsive and helpful with all our needs, and all the arrangements worked without a hitch. Absolutely a lovely house. One of the best vacation rentals we stayed over the past couple of years. I would recommend to my best friends without hesitation!"

  • Great house, location and owners!

"We stayed here over our kids' spring break. The Mauna Kea has the best beach I've ever been on. The kids had so much fun and it's way less crowded and stuffy than the four season. The house is a perfect location with plenty of space, super clean a great view and a pool to boot. I only wish we stayed longer! The owners were great to deal with and made our stay fantastic."

  • Great Mauna Kea Lodging Option

"This is a great unit for the Kohala Coast Resort area. It is a long drive to Kailua-Kona, but if you're looking in this area, I assume you know that already and are wanting to say in the resort area. There is a lot to love about this beautiful condo. Spacious, nicely furnished, modern amenities. Big kitchen; huge lanai; unforgettable ocean and sunset views. Master bedroom is huge. Second bedroom is smaller and great for kids, but if you're traveling as couples, be sure to discuss the bedroom assignments before your trip. Strongly recommend getting the Beach Club Access option. The parking access as well as beach chairs and towel amenity for Mauna Kea Beach are well worth it. Mauna Kea, in my opinion, is one of the best beaches in Hawaii and should not be missed. The gym access and access to general Hapuna Prince amenities is well worth it, too. The owners are also nice enough to provide their Foodland Makai card for grocery store savings at Mauna Lani. Minor drawbacks: Wi-Fi is erratic and I need to reset the router a few times because it kept rejecting the correct password (which I repeatedly cut and paste). It seemed to work every 5th attempt. No additional beach amenities like boogie boards, beach chairs, and umbrellas at the condo (although many are available for rent at Mauna Kea and the unit does have a good number of beach towels for non-resort use). This condo still warrants a 5-star rating. You won't be disappointed. The owners are very friendly and responsive via email. Rent with confidence. You'll be very happy to stay here. I hope to return here again soon."
