  • Affordable Luxury Accommodation in Paradise.

    "We stayed at Mark's home on the Big Island while vacationing with family from Australia. The pictures do not do this place justice! When we arrived we were amazed at how spacious and well cared for the property is. The pantry was well stocked with spices and herbs for cooking and Mark had left us some delicious treats in the refrigerator, which the kids loved! The beds were very comfortable and all the furnishings made us feel very at home. The location is perfect! Within walking distance to the beach, Orchid Fairmont and a short drive to one of the best beaches for snorkeling and very safe for kids. We loved having access to the beach club which provided great lounge chairs and shade, along with nice food options. This was the first time our kids really enjoyed and felt comfortable snorkeling in the ocean. The pool and hot tub at the Fairways was wonderful with a large hot tub, kids pool and large swimming pool. Mark was a wonderful host, very attentive, quick to reply to emails and texts and open to offer local suggestions for places to see & eat. Overall I would highly recommend this property and host to future guests and hope to return here one day. Mahalo Mark!"

  • perfect for one couple

    "This condo is a corner unit in the Fairways group of condominiums. It is in a quiet area with a view of the golf course and distant palm trees silhouetted against the sky; it is set back from this view, which is not as good as its neighbors enjoy in the same condo group, and I think the "Best Views" of the property title is a little overblown. The outdoor patio has a gas grill, like the other units, and a dining table and two lounge chairs, and we ate outside quite a bit. Because of the patio orientation, however, there is no place to sit in the shade in the late afternoons in February and March, a disadvantage, and the air conditioning compressors from this and the adjacent unit are very noisy when one is sitting outdoors. The master bedroom has thin, difficult to draw, curtains. There are large closets (containing plenty of hangars but only one, sashless bathrobe), There is a good kitchen with all the appliances and utensils one might need. the master bathroom is large, although one of the two sinks wasn't working when we were there; this will certainly be an easy to fix issue. In the garage were two portable beach chairs, but that was about all in terms of extras. Considering everything, we had a very good stay here. the unit is the right size for a single couple, although there is a second downstairs bedroom and small bath. We could sacrifice the view for this unit's lower rental fee compared with the larger condos in the area. The South Kohala realty who managed the property were responsive and friendly. We stayed last year in an adjacent unit, and liked the area and this unit enough that we have rented it again for next year, shortcomings and all! This is a beautiful area of the Big Island. the condo comes with free access to the Mauna Lani Beach club, a lovely area to sit, swim, snorkel, and whale-watch. There is a well-stocked grocery store and restaurants a half mile away, and wonderful beaches and restaurants within a half-hour drive. We especially liked Merriman's and the Red Water Cafe in Waimea, The Blue Dragon and the Plantation Grill in the Kawaihae Harbor area, and the local Monstera for sushi and noodles."

  • Wonderful Townhome!

    "My husband and I rented Amelia's townhouse for a week. It was very clean and comfortable. It was extremely convenient to everywhere we went in West Hawaii and is in one of the nicest parts of the island. The development's pool and beach club were terrific. We enjoyed the boogie boards provided by Amelia. If you snorkel, you might want to rent (very reasonably-priced) equipment from Snorkel Bob's up the road (which we did) since it tended to fit better than the equipment at Amelia's. Amelia included a list of places and their general locations in an info book for renters, which was helpful and contained good suggestions of nearby restaurants, shops, and beaches. Although it was very hot the week we were there, the air conditioning (which we usually had at 75 degrees while we were in the condo) and fans kept the condo cool. Amelia and her husband were very responsive to minor questions/concerns that arose while we were there. We would recommend their townhouse and would happily stay there again. If you stay there or in the vicinity, check out the beautiful nearby beaches! If you enjoy brunch, the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows has a wonderful brunch that is reasonably priced for the quality."

  • Wonderful New Year Get-Away

    "The condo location and condition are terrific. 4 family members shared the property and there was plenty of room and comfort for everyone. The condition of the property is ideal, very attractive but livable. We were within a 10 minute walk to The Fairmont Orchid or the Mauna Lani, both great places to enjoy while visiting the island. The condo complex is very well maintained and quiet, yet close to everything you need, grocery store, restaurants, The Beach Club... We look forward to going back again soon!"
