  • Stellar View and Location

"We visit my daughter and her family every year on the Big Island. This unit is by far, the most comfortable and relaxing place we have stayed. It's spacious open living area is perfect for all of us to gather. The expansive surroundings of the golf course and pond make for a peaceful and enjoyable view. In the evening it was nice to sit on the lanai, with refreshments, and BBQ. All the bedrooms were large and nicely laid out. We liked the convenience of the two car garage AND the landscaping around the whole area was superb. The pool was within walking distance which we took advantage of. We wouldn't hesitate to book this property again in the future."

  • Beautiful condo, needs some fixes

"The condo itself is wonderful. It has a lovely view of the golf course from the lanais, and being an end unit, it is very quiet and private. The beds are comfy, and the rooms are spacious. You are only 20 minutes away from the shops by foot. Unfortunately, some things needed fixing. Bennett, the property manager, was quite helpful and fixed the two things that broke while we were there: the dishwasher tray and the lock on the side door of the garage. The latter caused some trauma since the prior renters had left with the remote for the garage door and left that remote in their rental car when they returned it. The golf clubs were, naturally, in the garage, and being a Saturday, Bennett could not find any locksmith open in Kona. Fortunately, I found a locksmith in Hilo who actually was working on a Saturday, had a job half way to the Kohala Coast, and was willing to come. We finally rescued the golf clubs, and Bennett had the lock fixed so that it would never happen again, but we lost the tee time and the entire day and had to reschedule at greater cost. To be fair, the incident would not have happened had the remote been available, and an owner cannot be responsible for a renter's lapses. The rest of the stay was lovely and not quite so eventful, even though the swells were too big for clear snorkeling, but there are lots of other things to do."

  • Perfect location, perfect house, perfectly stocked!

"We just finished a glorious 2 weeks at the Islands Melody Villa. It was perfect for the 7 of us. 3 generations including a 6 and 4 year old. We came to Hawaii to celebrate my dads 60th bday. We were here 5 years ago and stayed in Kona but we found this location to be out of the traffic and minutes away from the most beautiful beaches. It made such a big difference this time to have all of the beach equipment provided. Boogie boards, snorkel gear, sand toys, beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. We spent way less time deciding what to do and all of our time having amazing beach days! Jeff and Suzanne were so great with answering questions. This was the perfect vacation!"

  • Wonderful Mauna Lani Palm Villas rental -- steps to the pool

"Our family (including two parents, two young kids, and a grandparent) was wowed by this beautiful ground floor condo at Mauna Lani Palm Villas. We were so glad to have this place to call "home" when we arrived, driving here from Kona Airport, exhausted by our 14-hour journey from New England. It is very clean and comfortable, and has air-conditioning for those hot afternoons! The unit has 3 BR, 2 BA, very well laid out. It was so convenient to have a washer-dryer in unit, for use after trips to the beach and pool. The lanai/patio adjacent to the golf course, was a favourite place to gather in the early mornings to eat breakfast and watch the sunrise. The garden is beautiful and features lush green tropical foliage, coconut palm trees and flowering plants. We saw several geckos and one huge praying mantis when we were there! The kids enjoyed playing in the garden, and in the huge driveway in front of the house. The unit is steps to the pool and the kids really enjoyed walking over to play in the pool. We also drove to the Mauna Lani Beach Club, and enjoyed swimming in the protected cove. It's great to be able to park at the "owner's/renter's" lot, which is so close to the beach. It's only a 10-15 minute drive to Mauna Kea beach, arguably one of the most beautiful, and relatively secluded beaches in the world! The boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrella in the garage, so generously provided by the owners, were wonderful to use on our trips to the famous Kohala coast beaches. We drove to the Hilton Waikoloa, Kawaihae, Hawi, Keokea beach park, Pololu Valley lookout, Waipio valley, and we would have loved to have gone snorkeling at Kua Bay/Captain Cook (but we simply didn't have the time for that). We felt lucky to have called this rental "home" in this magical place on earth, and felt sad to have to leave. We would certainly rent this unit again if/when we return to the Kohala coast of the Big Island."
