  • Wonderfully equipped, spotless villa in beautiful holiday complex

"The Golf Villas was the perfect place for our family to enjoy everything The Big Island had to offer when we visited for a week for a wedding. Roger's villa is excellently equipped with everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable holiday. From beach towels and chairs to a fully equipped kitchen, the villa made holidaying easy and comfortable. Bennett was a delight to liaise with prior to arrival and he met us at the villas at check in to brief us on the features of the villa and the complex. We were travelling with an infant and Bennett provided us with a high chair and crib to use throughout our stay. The villa was spotlessly clean and tidy and felt quite luxurious with a King Bed and huge ensuite bathroom to the main bedroom. The loft was spacious and comfortable and the 2nd bedroom was perfect too. We used the barbeque on the patio quite a lot for cooking. The view from the patio across the golf course towards the ocean was fantastic and very relaxing. All in all we could not fault our stay."

  • Excellent unit to stay in for Big Island vacation!

"Our family (two adults and two kids) stayed there for a week. Everything was great, and we could not have wished for a better place to stay on Big Island. It has everything one needs in the kitchen, and the unit has plenty of room for kids to run around as well as to sleep (we used king bed in master bedroom and sofabed in living room). We ate many meals on the huge open lanai enjoying the sunset view and slept with open doors under the breeze. We also went every day to the beautiful beach in front of Napua resturant (it is a 5 min pleasant walk from the unit along the ponds and the ocean). That beach is great for kids and great for paddle boarding (there is a rental place on the beach), swimming and snorkeling - has a nice coral reef out. The condo complex also has a very nice open swimming pool next to the BBQ grills/tables, and we ate some dinners there as well, also with a sunset view. In terms of logistics, everything was easy too - the property manager responded immediately to emails, and when we arrived the unit was waiting for us. We highly recommend this vacation rental!"

  • Nice Property Within the Mauna Lani Resort

"Overall, we found this to be a nice rental in a good location of Hawaii. Pluses: Being next to the pool was great, had no issue with noise from the pool as the rental has lush vegetation around it to provide noise and privacy barrier. The rental is very spacious. More than enough room for the five of us. Location to beaches is great! Communication with the property managers was excellent. They were responsive and very accommodating. In fact they allowed us to pay a little more for a very late check out due to our late night flight. Just to give constructive feedback, I'll mention a few things that could be improved upon. The rental is due for a good cleaning. Cleanliness of a unit is #1 on my list, and there are areas that hint at how well a place gets cleaned. For example, ceiling/bathroom fans and AC ducts have significant dust buildup, and while looking for some misplaced items I checked under the beds and saw quite a buildup of dust. Also, the grill is due for cleaning. While the place is tidy, it just needs a good spring cleaning. There are some areas that need fixing: Several of the rooms had blinds with missing sections. Probably were broken at some point and just not replaced. And, some pieces had been replaced but were shorter in length from the original blinds. Not sure if this was a short-term fix, but this sort of attention to detail is important to renters and this did look neglected. Kitchenware needs to be inventoried. As this is a nice rental in an upscale resort, this should be improved upon to meet expectation. There are a couple of pots/pans with scratched/peeling Teflon that are unusable (unless you want that in your food), and no baking sheet(s) provided (had to used tin foil to heat up our fries) inventory and update of kitchen items would go a long way. As another reviewer mentioned, the dishwasher didn't get the dishes clean. Also, one of the patio chairs was visibly broken and set next to the grill - unusable. This should have been tossed, repaired, or stored away before our arrival. We found the advertised beach equipment in the garage. Very nice beach chairs, great body boards. The cooler is a Styrofoam cooler often sold at the grocery store to get your items home, not really useful for a beach or daytrip adventure. Would recommend spending a small amount of money to provide a real cooler. Overall this rental was fine. If the mentioned items are addressed, I'd give it 5-stars"

  • A wonderful place to stay at Mauna Lani

"This was our first extended stay at Mauna Lani, and we consider ourselves very fortunate to have found Linda Kelly's lovely condo through VRBO. It fit our needs perfectly. The condo was nicely furnished; the kitchen was stocked with all the necessary cooking utensils, dinnerware, and barware as well as appliances like a rice cooker and an espresso maker; and the patio was the setting for many meals and card games. The kitchen was even stocked with a large variety of spices and condiments, and cooking basics like olive oil. The view is of the 4th fairway of the Mauna Lani North course, but it is filtered by many trees which afford a good deal of privacy. The Fairways complex (which is beautifully landscaped) has the nicest pool in all of Mauna Lani, and I made good use of the air-conditioned gym. Linda was very welcoming and very responsive when we had an issue connecting to the internet (quickly corrected). She even brought lemons and tomatoes one day. In short, we enjoyed our visit and are planning to spend many winters to come at Mauna Lani."
