  • Loved it all. Peaceful and relaxing vacation.

"This was our first stay in the Mauna Lani area. We stayed in G201 from 3/20-3/26 and loved every minute of it. My DH even said upon entering “If I had known the place was so nice, we could’ve stayed here the whole time.” (Before arriving here, we stayed in Volcano for 3 nights.) I will say I wanted to stay closer to the water but the view from the lanai was great. We could see the ocean and sometimes hear the waves. The only issue I had was that sounds from the lanais seemed to echo off the other buildings. This is a low density complex which never ever seemed crowded. Several times we felt we had the place to ourselves. This unit was huge for a one bedroom. Nice big kitchen, roomy living area and 2 full bathrooms. The couch makes into a bed, although we didn’t use it. I was thinking we could bring along one of our nieces next time and they could have the couch and their own bathroom. The bed was comfy and waking up to seeing palm trees outside was always a treat. We did have an issue with ants in the kitchen. When I called about them, we were brought ant traps. These seemed to work well, but we would still occasionally see ants here and there. No big deal to us. We kept all food in the fridge. Lots of towels available, but only one real beach towel. You know the kind of long and colorful towels you take to the beach. We discovered later that bigger “beach towels” were in the unit, but they were white. This is one thing I think they could improve upon. We did like having a washer and dryer in the unit and used it a few times. There was laundry detergent already there and available. The terraces are a quick walk to Makaiwa Bay and the beach. They have cabanas and loungers for use. The snorkeling here is some of the best I’ve ever experienced. Lots and lots of fish in very clear water once you are about 25 yards from the beach. Snorkel early in the day for the best conditions. We went one afternoon and the water was a little choppy. The adjacent fish ponds make for a nice relaxing walk around the area. It’s also a nice walk over to the Mauna Lani Hotel for drinks and dinner. The pool and BBQ area were rarely busy. I went to the pool 3 times and had it all to myself. BBQs you can reserve time at or they have a grill and go BBQ if you don’t want to eat there. There’s a Foodland grocery store about a mile away. They have a nice deli and fresh food selections if you don’t want to cook. What I was missing was an ABC store, but it’s about"

  • Great Condo and Ideal Location on the Island

"Our family of 5 (Parents and 3 adult children in their 20's) stayed here over Christmas 2016. The Condo is spacious and attractive, providing for all our needs while vacationing on The Big Island. We ate many of our meals on the balcony, enjoying the views of the golf course and sunrise. Just steps from the condo we used the small but attractive community fitness room and pool. And only a few minutes further on foot is access to the walking/jogging path through the interesting and beautiful Historic Fish Ponds that leads to the Mauna Lani Beach area. The beach and swimming environment are beautiful and clean for families wanting to sit on the beach (lounge chairs provided), swim, snorkel and paddle board. There are plenty of colorful fish to see if you enjoy snorkeling! There is a small market, shops and restaurants a 5 minute drive from the condo (we liked eating at The Blue Room and Tommy Bahama's) and 10 minutes away there are more in Waikoloa Village. If you are a Green Bay Packer football fan there is a great Packer Sports Bar, called Quinn's, in Kona (~30+ minutes drive south of the condo). From the condo we took daily drives- North to the furthest point, South and East to the Volcano National Park, Hilo and Akaka Falls and across the Island on Saddle Road. There is so much to see and do! The condo owner, Cindy (who is pleasant and responsive via email) provides both condo and island written information for her guests to help guide them with questions they may have while visiting. Overall, this great condo and its ideal location were perfect for our vacation!"

  • Perfect kohala locale for family

"Wonderful! Very peaceful, quiet, spacious and nicely decorated Tons of amenities--toaster, panini press etc so comfy to eat in room Pool on site never crowded, often had to ourselves 12 minute walk to a great swimming beach with protected calm lagoon, and another beach with off beach snorkeling on a private protected beach Only downside of mauna lani is limited choices for restaurants, only a few nearby and all very $$$$. So what, drive 15-25 min and lots of options! I cannot imagine a better condo!"

  • Perfect accomodations

"Our family of four, plus two elderly grandparents stayed here for a week. From the minute we walked in the front door it was clear that this condo was not like any other we have rented before. The main thing we noticed was how CLEAN it was! Incredible! Absolutely beautiful furnishings as well as everything you could possibly need while vacationing in a home away from home. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay on the Big Island's west coast."
